Gotta love the Super Bowl result. If San Fran had won, Niner fans would have entrance to the Great Hall of The Most Lombardi Trophies again, and they'd do what every non-Steeler occupant has done- tear it up like Animal House and leave the mess for someone else to clean up. ...
Still they were defending champs... hard to get plus odds like that. But then again I have poor timing...
It's cool, as long as none of them are the team's leader. They really do have a reputation for fielding teams that win at the school ball level but whose players don't reach the NBA's top-tier. I don't know how Krzyzghncoiapmsnewski can still get top recruits like he does when the record shows he isn't turning out Hall of Famers.
LeBron has as many Finals MVPs as Kobe now. His were more impressive too (against the Thunder and Spurs)
That sucked, but this is funny... http://www.theonion.com/articles/he...g&utm_campaign=standard-post:headline:default
This championship will forever be owed to Ray Allen. You can argue that he literally changed NBA history.
I can see both Pop and Duncan retiring after this. Shame, would have loved to see them getting another ring together. But they lost this thing in game six.
There were so many "What if...?" plays in these last two games. It's unbelievable. What a classic series (esp. games 1,6,7) The Spurs would have been more than worthy champions.
Props to the heat. Wpurs killed themselves and should have won it last game. Dunno how people can get so rabid for a team that they only chose to follow because their favourite player is there and has only been there 2 years....pathetic
How can you get so rabid for a team of millionaires who for the most part, have no real connection to you or even the city they play in. Why do people watch sports? Why do people care so much for something that really doesn't mean anything? We can go in circles psycho-analyzing this. I like the Heat because I like a lot of their players, I like the way they play, I enjoy watching LeBron James and his story unfold, and because I like it when haters (especially when it's an overwhelming proportion) have to STFU. It's as simple as that.
Danny Green is 26 years old, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets another crack at this Finals malarkey.
Most people are probably rooting for LeBron more than the Heat. I know I am. NBA is different from a sport like soccer in that it's a star-driven league and has been since the 80's. That's why it's not uncommon for american kids (well, those whose families can afford it) to own multiple jerseys of different players on different teams. I couldn't afford jerseys as a kid but if I could have I'd probably have owned a Barkley, a Thomas, and a Hardaway. And on that note... props to LeBron. Is nobody going to mention that he submitted a Game 7 (37/12/4) that completely silences any criticism of his ability? He came in the league without a jumper, worked on it for years, and just won the Finals with his jumper. It's amazing.
I took the liberty of starting a preseason thread for next season https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/2013-14-nba-preseason-thread.1989432/
Great, great series. Probably good for the NBA to have the Heat win again. They make for awesome villains.
