    And, just for the record:

    After three games,

    Magee: 3 Goals 1 Assist
    Rogers 0 Goals 0 Assists

    But, who's counting.....

Yes it was a terrible trade for the short term. I wish we didn't do it either.

The LA Galaxy officially jumped the shark with that trade... short term/long term... its terrible all the way around... Magee was the "glue" for our club... and so much more

You know what a real kick in our balls would be? If magic mike somehow leads that ragtag bunch to the MLS cup final and wins it with a stoppage time goal at minute 119! That would certainly require some blood shed from LA Galaxy management!

^ Mike, forgive me, but that ain't gonna happen. It's bad enough watching this promising season of ours go down in flames like this.

I assume you mean LA would be the other team in the final?

Would be a fitting conclusion to this whole fiasco, and in a way, would allow me to accept the situation and move on. :)

Assuming that he was referring to a stoppage time own goal by the Magee to give LA the victory, yeah, that would allow me to accept the situation.

Somehow I don't thing that's what he was referring to.

I know it's self-desctructive, but I'm having a hard time shaking the feeling that we don't deserve to win this year after trading away Magee for Rogers. Oh, well, I'll get past it. :)

Heck, I still haven't gotten over losing Hartman. I'm still trying to come to terms with the league taking Clint Mathis away.

It's not that I hold grudges a long time. I hold them forever.

When it's "Magee" does it really matter who the other team is? But I sure as hell wouldn't like it to happen to the Galaxy that's for sure.

He wouldn't make that mistake besides own goals are afraid of the "Magee".

I expect us to win every season, I know it can't be like this always but that is my expectation for this club. Magee or no magee I want to win it all 2nd place is no place.

Although he has deserted us, The Magee is benevolent, and forgives your foolish lack of faith.

Great blog, btw! A nice stroll down memory lane. With some traumatic triggering memories thrown in for good mearsure - Adam Christman! Starting in the MLS CUP Final!

Magee does it again. From today's Open Cup game:

@SoccerByIves: All Mike Magee does is score goals. Fourth in four games for Chicago. Fire tied w/Columbus, 1-1. #USOC100

Judging by the quality of his goals and how dangerous he was (at getting into good positions) when played as a true forward earlier for LA this year, then I would absolutely agree. The guy has become a quality predatory striker with a great finish. This is part of what astounds me about the trade. It's not just his proven clutch ability in playoffs, but also what he demonstrated early in the season for LA. Not just refering to the quantity of goals, but his quality of play creating opportunities, and deadly finishing.

And all we got for him at this point is a reserve and 5 minutes of notice in the news...

I really miss Mike. I just watched his game against Portland last night, and he was instrumental in their coming back to tie, and the crowd was ecstatic. The guy was wearing the captain's armband - don't know how that happened so fast. He seems to be thriving in Chicago.

Did you just compare the Magee to a Smurf?
    Did you really?
He probably punished us by leaving because of such blasphemies!

Oh, and of course Magee scores to lead the Fire against Crew in the Open Cup (remember that competition?) so, after four games

    Magee: 4 Goals 1 Assist

Wake me up if Rogers scores 4 goals for us this season.
