Because taking them away from their teams and trying to integrate them without any practice or training makes no sense. I will leave this here for people.... THATS RIGHT! SIT DOWN! SIT!
Hence the much earlier arguments to have a bigger/healthier camp roster back in May. (Hackman and Hopper would never agree to play Klinsmann and Vazquez in the movie version of this story.)
Nope. He chose his team. His team has been chosen. This isnt about giving free passes to everyone. He selected some other players that had to decline but it is what it is. He added ashe and that was it. So far we have an historic win in Jamaica. If we lose on Tuesday you can go all in with your ruminations. Till then it just appears to be panicked talk.
Your book is outdated and isn't all that relevant to the analysis of this current roster news ahead of the 6/11 USA/PAN WCQ.
Not officially, but according to a report from Soccer by Ives... http://www.soccerbyives.net/2013/06/williams-klinsmann-provides.html Steven Goff reported that he hasn't participated in a full practice since the beginning of the camp and Jeff Carlisle said today was the first time he has seen him wearing cleats instead of running shoes.
Hahahah even better. So he has made his choices. Might he choose evans at right mid and put parkhurst at right back? who knows. we will wait and see. but he added them in time to practice and play in the friendlies so...
good lord we may have 25 players by next tuesday jeez. what will we ever do then? I really think we have plenty of players in stock to make this work.
Shea, were he to get on the field vs HON, would no doubt score the game winning goal on 6/18 and get the US even closer to Brazil.
You wrote that he has played in very few matches in the last 2 years. Your words, not mine. That is factually wrong. Donovan has missed the last 12 US matches between September 2012 and June 2013. THAT is the only factual statement one can make. Prior to September of 2012, Donovan was among the top 10 US players in Caps and minutes played, appearing in 9 of JK's first 16 matches. Donovan's been away from the US team for 10 months. If you keep saying the last 2 years, you are being purposefully misleading and factually wrong.
He played in the first 3 then missed the next 6. then played the next 6. then hasnt played since. And in the 6 he played he didnt do much honestly except for scotland.
Bingo. I'm so comforted. So glad we are using a player that has been "playing with his club". He must be like a well oiled machine by now. Especially since all he's done is rehab for the last few weeks.
Not only that, but remember he actually tried to go to the October qualifiers, and was then turned around. So if he hadn't have had that knee injury, time away would have been even less.
