I think the author hit the nail on the head on that one. This why I think HSG or MM or someone is afraid/too loyal to fire Robert. A small part of me fears that there is no low low enough for the FO to pink slip The Rifle before his current contract runs out and they can simply decline to renew.

I think this is modern soccer players disease. They know that the camera is on them, and pantomime is exactly the word for it.

It is time for in-stadium demonstrations. Banners and signs. Waving small white flags and cutting up pink paper.

I wonder if many others are at this point. I see a lot of bitching on this thread, but continue to wonder when it will be put on display at CCS.

So we have a possible 6 points away. with TFC and NYRB. If we lose we will probably be 7th in the East and Chicago and TFC will be in spitting distance by the time the Houston game comes around.
If we lose to Houston and then if we lose away at Philly, we are probably completely out of the playoff race.
At that point I still don't see HSG firing RW no matter how vocal the protests become. They will wait it out until the end of the season.
By the way I like when TFC did the green protest a few years ago. It was a very impactful way to still cheer for the players but make a very visible protest.
Maybe we could all wear Argentinian Blue. Hint hint, look for your next coach in Argentina.

I think it's tough. I don't go to home games often (because I live in Boston) but it seems (and please correct me if I'm wrong) that there's a prevalent thought in the Nordecke that calling for Bob's ouster in the form of Sack Warzycha chants, among other things, is anti-Crew. This is why I think there aren't more demonstrations, because of peer pressure that anti-Bob chanting isn't supporting the team. On the contrary, the best thing that could happen to the Crew, is Bob Warzycha's dismissal.

That was the sentiment during most of Andrulis' reign. I am just wondering if many fans are at the point of 'RW must go' or 'it would be nice to get a new coach,' because when it was the latter and not the former with Andrulis, the movement did not have that much support.

I don't think we'll see the level of actual demonstrations outside the locker rooms like we saw at the tail end of The Bearded Clam. Even that took basically one very hard-headed and small group led by someone who we never see anymore at games (unless he's turned back up in my own absence, which has been significantly lengthy).

I think there's a combination of apathy and treading on eggshells for the players' sakes. The first is disastrous for the club long term. The second is as counterproductive as critics of demonstrations feel those are, but not nearly as bad as apathy.

I think the issue is, you don't want to do anything during the game. It has to be either at the start middle or end. Otherwise it could be construed as anti-team performance on the field.

I'd say that most fans are in the "Bob must go" camp, but don't have the stones to show their displeasure in a vocal manner.

Also, just between us girls, there have been requests from the FO specifically to not chant/display any type of anti-Bob propaganda during games. And so a lot of people don't want to poke the bear.

Me? I pay my $20 and then drink to forget.

It wasn't at a meeting. It was told to another leader of HSH face to face by a higher-up in the sales/marketing org chart. So I guess I should have said "there has been a request."

    Love you too, Chels.

I hate to say it because I have been a bit grumpy lately but Boo Freakin Who if the fans do something that might hurt the players feelings and be "anti crew."

Players, you're all a bunch of adults now. Maybe do something on the field and there won't be the need for anti-bob chanting/protests.

I fully expect that this is an unpopular response (and partly blame it on being sick all week) but the whole "We're afraid to upset the team/FO" attitude is ridiculous.

The truly sad part of all this is that the only way that we really are going to get rid of The Bob is to really tank it. I'm not talking about a bunch of "emotional wins" (1-0 losses where we outplay the other team) or Canadian Victories. We really have to get taken to the woodshed....repeatedly.

I'm not saying that I'm rooting for this to happen but I think we need to be realistic and know that HSG is not going to fire him unless things are beyond dispair.

Again, I do apologize for the crappy mood I'm in.

I agree. Go on and express yourself in any manner you deem suitable as a free soccer supporter, even if it flies in the face of the style of support the FO is trying to cultivate. It's not until you get your "This serves as a final warning" e-mail threatening a stadium ban from club management and CSC that you know you're doing something right.

Also, turn that frown upside down. We're going to win the 2013 US Open Cup. Believe.

Somebody ought to tell that to Fox Sports Ohio. I made a "say no to the Polish Rifle" graphic two-stick last year that FSO showed on broadcast before the game.

I agree. If a customer of a company is dissatisfied, (s)he certainly has the right to voice an opinion. The players can't be protected and put into a false "everything is happy and we're all ok" environment.

We know how patient HSG (aka Lamar) was with Nee's firing. According to Mark, he (meaning Mark) was all ready to sign the pink slip, but Lamar kept holding off on the final approval. According to what I once heard, the coach was on the thinnest ice possible, but then went on a bit of a hot streak, and was therefore allowed to stay.

It appears that Clark might have inherited some of his father's patience.

All the more reason to sing Sack Warzycha twice as loud. You think Zak Bernardo was worried about hurting the Front Office's feelings in 2005?

Although I don't fell that Robert is the best choice to coach this club I would be very upset to see him be treated this way. I really wish that the FO would find another place for him within the organization.
