First Leg - All times in ET Wed 24 Apr Toronto vs Montreal, 730pm (Voyageurs Cup) Edmonton vs Vancouver, 930pm (Voyageurs Cup) And a bit of history lesson about the Voyageurs Cup
I have never been much of a reader but it seems to me that at least the USOC has had its own weekly thread during the weeks that it has MLS teams competing.
I feel like we had a USOC catch-all (weekly) last year. I might be mistaken on that. Anyway if no one objects I think doing USOC and Voyageurs here is cool, or at least just the Voyageurs since there are far fewer matches and all of them involve MLS teams in some way.
Yes, who can forget...well, I've forgotten his user handle, but there was that guy with the QPR avatar who was trolling the USOC threads.
Will there be streams for the Canadian Cup? I mean, either legal or not legal? Some Tuesday night soccer would be damn nice.
Knock it off, hoser! This guy is a horrible storyteller. I thought that musical interlude 45 seconds in was going to be like some kind of video montage to the Voyageurs Cup, but it was just some knucklehead's rungtone.
Only if you're bringing some Molson Canadian down. Say what you will, but to me that's a quality imported beer with a fine ABV.
I'll have you know that I am a cheap beer connoisseur. Yeah, poke fun all you like, but beer is designed for one thing and one thing only: To get you drunk, and if you can do it cheaply without putting yourself in a hospital, by golly, do it. Bring me your Molsons, Labatt's and Miller High Life's yearning to breathe free. I'll drink them. I don't care.
I knew I liked you. I regularly down a beer called "Simpler Times" from the fine folks at Trader Joe's which I stocked up on for $3 per 6-pack. Only 5.5 abv but for the price, you can't beat it!
flog this man if I wanted to get drunk, I'd get cheap hard liquor. i get drunk faster for cheaper price man must have standards... there are few things in world that i don't compromise on. my choice in women and beers. i'm the kind of beer snob that turns down free beer if it's crap. why would i sully my taste buds with stuff that tastes like cat piss?
Then again, if you know it tastes like cat piss, then you must not be TOO picky about what you drink.
I'll try anything at least once... maybe twice just to ensure my first drunken impression was correct
If it's not Belgian beer I am suspicious. If it is Belgian, they I'm willing to give it a try and see if it meets the standards my favorite Belgian beers have made. You want drunk and good taste? I give you Delirium Tremens or Duvel.
Then again you can pick up Bavik for $3 for a 6-pack of cans and it is god awful, and Belgian. I love the Delirium bottle though, and so does my girlfriend.
Duvel is epic win. I once had a pint of Belgian microbrewery stuff... in Brisbane Australia. The cost of importing drove up the price of each pint to like 20 bucks, but oh so worth it.
You Belgian lovers are funny. I like those beers from time to time, but I don't think I could handle them daily. (BTW, I have a couple beers per day.) I'm with Eviltree on the getting drunk part (and the Duvel part: one of my absolute favorites. Duvel is a Belgian response to Pilsner Urquell.). Cheap liquor is better than cheap AND awful beer. (There's a lot of expensive awful beer too. Hype and price also play a part in our taste.) I'm pretty much to the point of drinking the cheapest liquor I can find in a glass bottle (sometimes I'll settle for less) and mixing it, if I really want to just get drunk. If I want to get drunk on cheap beer, it will definitely NOT be Canadian. Generally, the more expensive you go with liquor (up to $35/5th), the easier the hangover is the next day. (sorry for all the ())
Sitting in the St. John's Airport right now waiting to board my flight to Toronto. Can't wait to see tonight's game live. For those looking to watch online, First Row Sports had streams for me last year. Fingers crossed for you guys that they do again.
I always get St. John and St. John's confused. One used to be the Maple Leafs and the other used to be the Flames. I could never remember which was where, but I believe that one is in Newfoundland and the other in New Brunswick. I would always get them confused as to which team went with which city in which province. Yes, it's true. Everything I learned about Canada I learned from watching minor league hockey.
it's Saint John, New Brunswick and St John's, Newfoundland Rainy day in greater toronto area now. going to be another suckitude attendance for Toronto-Montreal match
