Derby Sunday as Er Glorioso will be travelling to the pocilga to take on that other team in Hispalis at 1530 hrs EST, 1230 hrs PST. What's at stake is Er Glorioso winning their second Derby at the pocilga in a row and keeping their fourth place spot in the classification and opening up a 7 point lead over that other team. Here is the preview of the match:

Well as usual Er Glorioso shocks the hell out of us Beticos! They don't show up last week and this week they show up and send Madrid back home on the AVE with 0 points and the probability of being 11 points behind Barca by the end tomorrow night.

Here are some of the match reviews:

Next up Depor in Corunha, just wondering which Betis team will show up. Well for now I guess we can gloat for a week and smile at our merengue friends all we want!!

The game could have gone either way, Betis let their guard down twice in the first half and it cost them those two goals. Ruben Castro's goal was big for Er Glorioso and it brought them back into the match. They totally dominated Barca in the second half and Valdez came up big a couple of times. Barca was lucky to escape with all three points but that's life. Next weekend on the road against Celta, as for now tied for fourth in the liga with Malaga! Ese Beti Oe!!

I know, Barca fed Da Messiah & the rest was history (literally). Still loving the fact that I got to watch Ray Hudson commentate the match. I really think he is a Betico Fan ;)

Don't have it but listened to the second half on Canal Sur Radio at work. 2-0, Er Glorioso should have bagged at least one goal which would have made the return leg a little more palatable. If they can score quickly there is no reason they can't bag at least 2 goals against Atleti next week in the return leg. They are at home to Bilbao on Monday for the first match of the second half of the season.

That might be true, but the real question is if Los VerdiBlancos can stop AM or in better words Falcao. Dude is simply tearing up La Liga defenses this season. Straight Monster!!!

Two player updates in the January transfer window for Er Glorioso:

    1) Guillermo Molins a Uruguayan who is a Swedish NT midfielder was loaned to Betis from Anderlecht for the remainder of the season with a option to buy out his contract.
    2) Salvador Agra has been loaned out for the remainder of the season to Siena.

KO is just under 90 minutes at the Benito Villamarin where Er Glorioso currently in 4th place with 34 points will be taking on At. Bilbao, 15th place and 21 points. With Malaga only grabbing a tie and Valencia, Rayo and Levante losing this weekend a Betis victory would give them 37 points and a 5 point lead over 5th place Malaga and a 6 point lead over Rayo and 7 pts over Levante and Valencia.

Two articles below 1) Today match preview and 2) what Pepe Mel was quoted regarding the teams play of late especially of the younger players:

Real Betis match is on live on BEin Sport TV. Such a joy to hear the fans sing the Club's anthem before the match kick offs. I get chills hearing it.

I wonder what a certain ex-owner of Betis should be thinking right now, seeing his former club do VERY well without him.

4th freaking place. Wow. Well done! :)

5th place. They are behind Malaga on goal differential and will undoubtedly lose the season series.

Just pointing out the facts, dog. Oh yeah; Sevilla 5, Betis 1. :D After this weekend we will only be three points out, counting the win in the next derby game.

Er Glorioso's play of late continues to slide as they once again failed to win at home. With only 17 points out of a total of 36 in play at home, one has to scroll down the table to Granada to find another team who has actually done worse than Betis playing at home. Ruben Castro is out at least 3 weeks and it is up to the rest of the team to pickup their playing level. Benhat had a better game against the Pucelanos for a change but is still off his early season form. Jorge Molina has cemented his cause as a striker who can't get er done when he has to as evidenced by missing the chance of the game to score the only goal of the match. What is somewhat concerning is the future infeed of Er Glorioso next year as they have moved up to the A team several of the Betis B players and it shows as Betis B is a firm candidate for relegation to Tercera. We all know that the jump from Tercera to La Liga is too great and any players that Betis believes have a chance to play in the Liga next year from the B team will more than likely be loaned out and used in the 2014 season.

Er Glorioso has three tough games coming up:

At Espanyol whose play of late has greatly improved
Malaga at home, a must win if Betis wants to remain in position for a CL let alone Europa League slot
At Real Sociedad who are now tied with Er Glorioso in the table

Currently they are in 8th place with 37 points the same as Real Sociedad and are one point out of Europa League and 3 points out of CL. If they can secure 5 out of the 9 points or even more that would be a welcomed sight, failure to win at home and lose on the road would move Betis deeper into the mid table zone. Although the goal is to get to 45 points and remain in Primera one more year, the fact is many Beticos want more and why not.

Er Glorioso moved up to 7th place with a very convincing 3-0 victory over 4th place Malaga. Molina made up for his gaffes last week against Espanyol scoring in the 1st minute of the match. Mario and Pabon did the rest of the damage in the first half.

Next week they travel up to Anoeta to take on 6th place Real Sociedad.

Er Glorioso returns to Sevilla with one point from today's performance. After a 0-2 lead which evaporated in 5 minutes and they went behind in 11 minutes only to snatch a tie with Pabon's brace.

Er Glorioso remains in 7th place 3 points out of fourth place.

Here are the video highlights of the match.

It must feel like a loss for dirty red & white. Now there is no chance those bums can finish higher up the table than Betis. Ha ha...I am laughing at 'Q', who is probably crying on what could have been but won't be :D
