From the club: A versatile player, second year scholar Duane is usually deployed in midfield but can also play at right back. He comes from Wakefield and played for Kellingley Welfare before joining the Huddersfield Town Academy at under-9 level. http://www.htafc.com/team/academyprofiles/ From his agency: American born, Duane Holmes has been with the terriers since we was eight years old. He has progressed his way through the Huddersfield youth set up and is now in his final year of his scholarship. Duane is a versatile player who is usually deployed as an attacking midfielder but can also play in the right back position. Duane is excellent at breaking lines and has proved his self to be a natural finisher. Despite his diminutive size Duane is an exciting, strong, agile footballer with a big heart for the game. http://www.theplayersagency.com/player/duane-holmes/ Georgia-born '94.

12/12/12: "HUDDERSFIELD Town's Academy manager Mark Lillis and his players will be eagerly awaiting the FA Youth Cup draw tomorrow lunchtime after they reached the fourth round with an emphatic 3-0 win at Hartlepool.... Town were three goals to the good before half-time when top scorer Duane Holmes was on hand to finish tidily after being set up by Danny Morton...." http://www.examiner.co.uk/huddersfield-town-fc/huddersfield-town-news/2012/12/12/huddersfield-town-academy-team-through-to-fa-youth-cup-fourth-round-after-win-at-hartlepool-86081-32411910/#ixzz2JEb1el6P Definitely American: https://twitter.com/DuaneHolmes And he wants to come back to the good old US of A, specifically the Big Apple: http://twitter.com/DuaneHolmes/status/271706529042939906/photo/1 Perhaps Tab Ramos could score him a plane ticket. Transfermarkt just shows the 1 bench appearance for the senior team in the FA Cup 1:1 draw w/Leicester, but it has the date as 1/13/12: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/duane-holmes/leistungsdaten/spieler_257095.html
He looks like a really nice guy, the kind that also really enjoys being out on the field playing the game. Has a very happy smile (like Edson Buddle).
Fortunately, without the Ronaldinho teeth. And in Britain, too. Go figure. From bshredder's article: "I've always wanted to represent the United States because I am American and that's where I'm from," Holmes stated emphatically. "I've always had my heart set out on playing for America, to be honest." Well that's pretty categorical, isn't it? Didn't realize he's playing at holding midfielder -- Leading his team in scoring that much more impressive taking that into account. Will be keeping an eye on this Duane Octavious Holmes...
From an article yesterday. Holmes may be part of Huddersfield's FA Cup team today. If he plays it would be his pro debut http://www.examiner.co.uk/huddersfi...-leicester-city-fa-cup-replay-86081-32787508/
Duane Holmes was nominated by the Football League for Championship Apprentice of the Year. http://www.seagulls.co.uk/news/arti...-fl-awards-667483.aspx?pageView=full#anchored
Offered his first professional contract today http://www.htafc.com/news/article/a...-pro-deals-749534.aspx?pageView=full#anchored
? Based on the posts above (him being topscorer of his team, his manager looking at him as a "frontline option") im pretty sure he's an attacker.
Sciarreta's article lists him as occupying one of the two holding midfield spots, the point being he seems quite adaptable which only helps...
Yeah apologies he posted in YNT that he is a midfielder, although it seems like an attacking one. Either way, I don't see him getting called up. This team is stacked everywhere except backline.
Having seen several photos of him now and in the past it appears that he's a fairly small guy bshredder do you know how tall he is?
