Yeah, and honestly, he'd be like 5th or 6th down the list of storylines, waaaayyyy behind Donovan's return, the 3peat quest, CCL, Robbie Keane, who is the new DP, sale of AEG....honestly, he'd probably get less attention than the fact that we've been starting two teenagers at striker.
Yeah... somebody from the Galaxy needs to be... Damn. I literally started typing "sending out feelers" and then thought, "No... that's inappropriate". So then I started typing "tapping him up" Seriously... someone just talk to the guy.
I would think CHI would be happy to take anything for RR. Something is better than what they currently have.
I think giving up only Clark or Jimenez for Rogers is just wishful thinking. Chicago needs help mainly at defense and forward. If Bruce makes a call to Chicago about about Robbie, Chicago is going to first ask for Magee (wishful thinking on their part), then they're going to ask for one of our defensive studs like AJDG, Franklin, and Leonardo (again wishful thinking on their part). Realistically it's probably going to take trading away Tommy Meyer to get Rogers.
I think I 've read Great Gay Hero #523. Is that the one where he gets captured by his nemesis but then escapes?
Arshavin to Galaxy....hopefully not true... http://arsenal-news.com/arsenal-star-on-his-way-to-la-galaxy/7956 « Arsenal line up £70 million trio! Arsenal could make £15 million Barcelona bargain move? » Arsenal star on his way to LA Galaxy? Out-of-favour Russian Andrey Arshavin could be on his way to the MLS at the end of the season, according to reports which have emerge from abroad. The little Russian is the clubs record signing and he will be on his way for nothing at the end of the season, as he will not be offered a new contract and we have been unable to sell him in previous windows. And according to TuttoMercatoWeb, LA Galaxy are the latest side to show their interest in acquiring his services at the end of the season. The 31-year-old would prefer to remain in London and has interest from Fulham, but with the potential to earn huge amounts abroad Arshavin is said to be tempted by the opportunity to leave England. His time here has been up for a while and we have not appreciated the fact that he has been earning his wages for doing absolutely nothing to justify what we are paying him. So considering he hasn’t been at his best for more than two seasons now, it will be good for the club and his career if he makes a switch to the MLS.
I don't know too much about him, but it looks like he's a two footed MF that can play either wing or as second striker. If we get him and use him as a second striker along side Keane then we can move Donovan back to RM and Magee to LM. Plus it looks like Arshavin wore the armband for Russia for awhile until these last euros. Another international captain.
Arshavin is a lazy bastard. Than again, the majority of his time at Arsenal he was played out of position. I don't think many people realize that the player on the pitch wasn't the player most clubs were scouting before he moved to England. He played central most of the time and at Arsenal he was farmed out on the wing, where he couldn't be bothered. On form and motivated he's a game changer but I have to believe there's better options out there than Arshavin.
Amr Zaki said on his Twitter that he's signing with LA for 2 years. https://twitter.com/ZakyOfficial/status/318475085415600128 Here's the lowdown from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amr_Zaki): 29 year old (turns 30 tomorrow) striker 6 ft 1 inch Egyptian national team player Hasn't played in a club match since November of last year (played for Egypt back in January) I'm really surprised. This came out of nowhere. Anyways, I won't believe it until it's done. Adam Serrano said that it's more likely that he's coming for a trial, then signing if it goes well. I don't see a need for another striker...I really like how Jack and Jose are getting playing time up top. And Zardes is another option too when he comes back from injury. I really don't know much about Zaki but I guess depth is always a good thing... Also, I doubt he signs as a DP. If he does...I would be speechless.
My bad...turns out it's an April Fools joke. His latest tweet in Arabic said something about april fools (used google translate)
Just looked up Amr Zaki on Transfer Market, he looks to be a pure CF. If he was also a winger, (who could cross) I cold see this kind-of move, but he's not.
I hope its a April fools joke because this is a player Dc united would signed or Chicago not Galaxy........
I don't get it...why us? Why play a joke on a team that is an ant compared to other clubs. I guess it makes it more believable...but I don't think it was worth it to make such a joke.
Because we're not an ant anymore. We're not on the same financial or technical plane as a Real, Bayern or ManU, but if you follow soccer you know the Galaxy and you know the Galaxy can and have payed big money for players.
All joking aside we only pay big money if you are a David Beckham or a CR7, Speak english (or at least a little), and have star power also you need to play some mean ass football. That's the criteria for a blank check (you fill in the amount) for the honor and privilege to wear a LA GALAXY shirt. Other than that you get a couple of million 2-3 at best like keano and soon to be maybe fat frank.
Here's one that I didn't believe until I saw the original source dateline of 3/31. Arshavin. http://www.transfermarketweb.com/?action=read&idsel=118507 Wrong side of 30 for my tastes (I'm still holding out hope for a Neymar swoop), but maybe he'll be just hungry enough to give us a few good performances.
Big mistake to give Arshavin a DP status....the guy had one breakout season and then became a non factor. I'm not even convinced that signing him up for non-DP money would work....just a waste of cash....
