You know, kids, it's March freaking 30th, and Landon just saw the field for us. There was a time when we thought it could be mid-year or longer. Life is good.

I still think Carlo made the wrong decision in coming out, but I think the grass came into play as well. The pitch played really slow. On any "normal" pitch, that ball does not die like it did and Carlo kicks it away cleanly.

Well... that was frustrating. We have dominated all four matches we've played so far but have not been particularly sharp. We've out shot our opponents 68-21 (or something like that). Once again, we could have been up 3-0 at half, but we aren't sharp enough. I'd like to see us put together a run over the next month, with Keane coming back healthy, and both he and Donovan rounding into form.

However... We are displaying the toughness to come back from adversity, which is good. We have tremendous depth on this team (compared to other MLS squads), which should serve us well.

A story of rust huh? A bad backpass from a guy who has 5-6 games under his belt after 18 months of inactivity and then a horrible decision by a GK who didn't see the field for 2+ years. That's fine, but when will rust stop being an excuse?

Speaking of rust, had Donovan scored that goal on his first touch of the game AEG would have had to cancel renaming the HDC the stubhub center and gone with Captain Donovan Center.

Ultimately, I think that massive screw up in the back was worth 2 goals. Prior to the error we were fully in control and walking our way to a 1-0, 2-0 win. Toronto gained momentum and confidence after that. Also, credit to Ryan Nelson for making subs that impacted the game. That being said, mistakes have cost us 4 points now against weaker opponents.

We were bailed out by Villarreal in Canada. Again. Just start him every time we play in Canada and watch him score GOLAZOS. I want to say that we should get use to the inglewood magic, but this kid will be in Europe in the next 3 years.

A tie is fine, but I really really want a BIG win during our next game..

Well, LA vs TFC games are rarely boring. Even if it ended in a draw like I predicted.

Watching that golazo by Villareal live... kid has magic in his boots. Whether he can harness it consistently is another story.

I LOVE to watch our kids play - McBean and Villarreal. They are developing very nicely for us and are loads of fun.

I don't know, but I'm still wanting more out of Juninho. I'm liking what Sarvas is bringing, but I expect more from Juninho. Get it going, Juni.

Cudicini and Leonardo....I have no words.

But I am enjoying watching our team. We play really well, passing the ball around, etc. We're good and will get better.

I knew it wouldn't take until end of April or whatever Bruce said regarding when Landon would be fit to play. The man knows how to keep in shape.

I'll accept the tie, especially the way it happened. Looking forward to Wednesday.

Completely agree about Juni and Sarvas. Sarvas looks like a guy who is working his butt off to justify his starter role. He's big and strong and bringing it. Juni looks like he's just gotten a new long-term contract and coasting. Want him to step it up. Perhaps that's not fair and he's not yet sharp in the new year. Hope he scores against Monterrey.

Leo flubbed a back-pass, which is a skill error. Cudicini's decision to dart into No Man's Land like he was having a WWI flashback is a judgment error from a player that ought to know better. Yikes.

Yeah... I kind of agree... but I think Leo's flub was a lack of concentration and focus rather than a physical error. It was ugly all the way around, and Omar had it covered, which makes it even worse. :(

They are both great goals - it's a jerk move to denigrate Jose's - so yes, it's bad of you, Taylor.

Just finished watching the game, haven't read any comments yet...

First time in history a team has looked worse after Landon Donovan subs onto the field? Not a good performance from him, but understandable. Villareal is a sick finisher. In his early career we have seen him finish with his head, scissor kick, long range bomb... Very promising.

Overall a good road performance. We could/should have scored more even if we were not good in most of the second half. Toronto scored two goals on one good opportunity created in the entire match. Hard to fathom. The less said about that first conceded goal the better. Carlo takes more of the blame then Leonardo in my opinion.

LD agrees with you. His quotes after the game pretty much say he didn't play well, but he needed the minutes.

As for Jose, MLS Analyst predicts we could get calls for him as early as after the U20 world cup if he performs well there. It's going to be an interesting summer.

    From LAGalaxyInsider:

“It was just a symbolic gesture to show that we had fully welcomed him back," Dunivant told LA Galaxy Insider. "He’s as much as part of these team as he ever was, so it’s as simple as that. He’s been our leader and it’s more of a symbolic gesture than anything.”
As for Donovan, he could help his surprise, but admitted that his goal is a simple one—to contribute for the Galaxy.
“I was surprised. I told him no at first and he insisted so it was a very nice gesture,” said Donovan.” More than anything, it was nice to be on the field. I really want to contribute and I’m really anxious to contribute and make a difference.”

Thanks Sean for taking one for the team! (and by the way, how unegotistical does our team sound?)

"It was a cross from Omar [Gonzalez], I don’t know if Mike [Magee] or the defender put it back in the box or something like that and it was just a reaction play by me," said Villarreal. "I’m just happy I can help out the team."
But when asked if he has ever scored like that before, Villarreal smiled, showcasing the same youthful exuberance that led to his goal before turning to his locker mate Sean Franklin.
"I had a couple against Sean in practice like that," said the beaming teenager. "But never in a game."

I was sure Jose's goal was going to win goal of the week, but then I watched Henry's. Damn. Now I don't know.

Both of them are great, and then there's Powers too. I don't think his ranks up with the other two though. To me it's Villareal vs. Henry, and I'm not sure who wins.
