Spain won, the French will have to qualify in the play offs. I think portugal will qualify 1st in their group. france, and england should avoid each other because the play offs are seeded.

Doubt it. I respect Portugal a lot because they're a very tough team for any of the favorites to play against, but they've spotted Russia too big a lead. Capello's men will win that group.

Benzema and Higuain both are world class and yes they do get criticized a lot but that doesnt mean they arent world class. Even messi and cronaldo get criticized, all world class players get criticized once in a while in their careers. And talent wise Pato is better than both benzema and higuain he just havent been able to show it for long on the field because of injuries.

So many different definitions about what is "world class"...

Anyway, agreed, everyone gets critized, and rightly so.

Pato? Needs to stay fit more. Someone who is always injured is hardly a player any team can plan to have in their squad, let alone in the starting XI. When fit, he is a good player but not a world beater anyway. Him being around or not doesn't - imo - make much difference to Brazil.

He has played for Brazilian NT, can either of the other two boast the same accomplishment?

He has showed flashes of brilliance between injuries... problem is that flashes don't get you anywhere.

There is a minimal standard that shall be respected for that to be true. If not, it does not matter how much WC players you have, as, for instance, in 1966 and 2006.

    You;re wrong about that term.

Worldclass is just a "term" for a player who has played great and appeared as the best (or among the top3,5) in his position - YEARLY (not all time)

For example, Vieri or Trezeguet were "worldclass" strikers in his best form (early 2000s) but they are NO ALL TIME materials at all.
Or Dani Alves, Jordi Alba were called "worldclass" full backs at present (2010-12), but they might never be in any all time team!

no.. I have a different opinion than your about that term.. because..
What you described here is not a class but a form of a player.. he's on his top form or on his prime.

OK let me re-phrase, there is no CLEAR definition of the worldclass term. But a most common understanding is: " A Player is classified as a WORLDCLASS, for he PROVED to be the best= or among the bests in his position (top clubs) and shall walk into any top NT" - hence YEARLY

Benzema and Higuain are borderline world class. Pato isn't even close. There are literally 20 strikers I'd take over Pato.

Just your opinion.. but when fit Pato is a top ten center forward in the world up there with any of them.

I dunno. I mean, for example, he has never scored 20 goals for club in a season (in all competitions). Even when fit, there are clearly better attackers than him around.

That said, of course, he is young still. 23. Might have a great future, might not.

Benzema and Higuain are both top strikers. Problem is CR dominates the ball so much that they actually get very few chances compared to other strikers who are the main focus of their club such as Cavani. People expect them to be scoring at ridiculous rates while also staying out of the way of CR and playing a supporting role. That poster in the Real Madrid forum had several great posts about this.

Benzema is not better than Neymar or Lucas, plus.. Fred only really needs 2 touches to score 1 goal. how is that bad?

I still don't get how Benzema is considered a good player, honestly do you guys watch these people play? or just see a name, see he plays for the NT and Real and say.. he must be good.

Pato isn't world class. He is a good player when in form but he isn't a must have player on the NT. Right now he is being shaped to be more scoring AM in Corinthians satelliting around Guerrero. He is pretty much a knock in scorer.
