By the name of it, it looks like there will be more than one. The first is this Thurs. from 1-2pm PT. You can submit your questions to Bruce Arena and Chris Klein here: http://www.lagalaxy.com/townhall
https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/chelis-greatest-hits-compilation-v01.1984441/ Ask bruce about all the idiots that think MLS is fixed for us. It's pretty sad
So if I go listen to a replay, am I gonna hear "Bruce, a gentlemen who goes by the name Phoenixhazard would like to ask you, what are you wearing?"
@LAGalaxy: And that's a wrap on the first online #GalaxyTownHall! Full video will be posted on http://t.co/EUGPIB0Q0A later today
"Bruce, S. Sampson asks: how do you feel about people on BigSoccer lobbying for your dismissal on an annual basis?"
@LAGalaxy: ICYMI: Check out the full video of the #GalaxyTownHall Q&A with GM/ Head Coach Bruce Arena & President Chris Klein - http://t.co/74ChwYbxjx
Hah they used my question also. I asked if AEG would remain financially committed to the team as they were with Leiweke.
What I should have asked was whether or not we will see Frank Lampard in an LAG shirt come the transfer window. But at least I got my 5 seconds of internet fame.
Someone else asked my question, but it got there. Bruce is totally thinking about the USMNT position, should his country need bailing out. That's why there was such a quick denial.
they completely dodged my question about increasing our fans, just kept saying they are doing a lot to keep our current fans but no new ideas for drawing a bigger fanbase
Before the cameras were rolling there was talk about how long people were season ticket holders, and Linda Pickle mentioned that she had been at the first MLS Cup game. And Bruce gave us all "the smirk" and asked "Who was it that won that game." I wanted to throw something at him.
I am not arguing with you - but just providing information for what it's worth. One thing he SHOULD have mentioned is that obviously the advertising budget has been bumped up. There are more billboards all over town this year than I have ever seen before. And, giving TWCSN access to the team for "Backstage Galaxy" is another form of promotion that we have never seen before. Slicker than anything Fox ever produced and on TV multiple times with repeats during the week. I do think they are trying to market more aggressively, although I admit that I have not seen much by way of results and the best one can say is that they have more or less held even to off-set the dropoff from the non-fan Beckham-gawkers.
I would agree. Based on nothing more than my personal observations, there has been more advertising in this town for the Galaxy this year. Now, I don't have any numbers or figures to determine if this has led to increased ticket sales, jersey sales, etc. Since the first two games were awful 2 p.m. Sunday starts, it will be interesting to see what the crowd is for our first regular, Saturday evening game...
I had the pleasure of doing some business in Torrance and yes there are billboards all over the place with LA Galaxy on them. Chris Klein wasn't too specific about any changes needed to HDC. Hell, I'd just like him to say something like, "We're looking to get a bigger better Jumbotron (or DiamondVision, whatever) on BOTH sides of the field." Instead, he basically said there's no place better than HDC, and we added some bars. I agree Victoria Street is awesome, but hey, let's get an updated video screen or two, okay?
Talking of game-day changes, could we drop the "Aaaaare yoooouuuuuuu readyyyyyyyyyyyy????" before the Kick-off? It just strikes as very.... Chivas USA...
K agree with all the people there and as much as it has been discussed nobody asked him or pointed out directly that the scoreboard and screen needs to be updated. They ran around it and were never direct, Next one of these ask a direct question . Can we replace the aging screen and score board and also place one on the other side of the field. That way we get an answer we want instead of a run around.
I actually brought this up privately with Chris Klein after the session. I deliberately did not want to put them on the spot publicly because a new technology jumbotron is a major investment and nothing was to be gained by embarrassing them at the first town hall. Chris surprised me by saying that yes, they were aware that the technology was old and an upgrade was "on their radar." He also said that the old board was one of Bruce's pet peeves. It will be interesting to see what happens. I can't see any practical way for them to do it during the season even if they were ready to go. And also (this is only my thought and not something I was told) it seems to me you can't really consider that kind of upgrade without at least thinking about expanding seating in the area of the hill. And, heaven forbid, if they are thinking about moving to Mythical Farmers Field, they would not likely invest millions in a new videoboard at HDC.
Great job. As for farmers field, not if its another Rose Bowl thing, If we get our home for about 30k then yes but share a football stadium?? Huge mistake.
Shame I don't get TWCSN up here, would be nice to see these things. I know most will disagree but i think the HDC hurts us since its not centrally located. You can't walk there from a host of bars closely located or do "March to match" (whether you like it or not it does seem to yield results) All these things also bring fans to game on time. Orlando is really pushing hard to have a stadium dtown for these reasons so id imagine they work in a host of cities.
agreed, there are a lot of minor league things that happen that I'm not crazy about, thats a great example.
