You brought a good point, Parma is starting to sell their best stars, and played pretty bad the last season, it is the new Fiorentina? I heard they're cash strapped (who's not nowadays!!)

    Re: Cannavaro to ____________

I heard the opposite. I believe Parma are in a good financial situation and they didn't need to sell Cannavaro. He just wanted to leave because Parma are not buying stars anymore they are just selling stars. In the past 5 years they have sold Ortega, Veron, Crespo, Thuram, Almeyda, and now Cannavaro. Yet they haven't bought any stars. If you are indeed right that they are in a financial crisis than I wonder where they are putting their money because it certainly isn't going for new players.

I hope Parma does well this season---I'm happy with them since they gave Cannavaro to Inter, and Almeyda. I hope they lose both of their games to inter this season but finish in at least mid-table

Financially speaking, Parma is one of the healthiest teams in Serie A. The club is owned by the Tanzi family, which owns Parmalat--a gigantic multinational dairy products distributor. The Tanzi's, in contrast to many Serie A owners, are totally low-key. Last year they signed Nakata for a boat-load of money--unfortunately he didn't 'fit in' very well, ie he sucked. THis year's big signing was Adriano from Inter, supposedly the heir apparent to Ronaldo. THe kid's only 19 so we'll have to wait and see. Look closely and you'll see that there's a ton of young talent in Parma. Two-thirds of the defense are starters on the Italy U-21 (Bonera, Ferrari, Paolo Cannavaro), Donati is the starting d-mid for the U-21, and two strikers are also starters for the U-21 (Marchionni and Bonazzoli.) DiVaio is being groomed for the Azzurri, Sebastien Frey is considered by some as the heir-apparent to Barthez for France. Junior plays for Brazil.
Hell, I'm getting pretty psyched about this team!
    Forza Parma!

Should have stayed with us or gone back to milan imo. btw parma are now the 2nd or 3rd team with the most amounts of loans/co ownerships.

If only Parmalat didn't go bust.. maybe Parma would of had a Scudetto or two by now. Sad times, they had a great team in the late 90's - early 2000.
