And I would totally agree with this if that was the case, but so far we haven't been spoiled by creativity or interesting stuff on most 1st and certainly not the 2nd or 3rd Jerseys. No Unicorns or swirls were necessary for this one either but little things like on this Sweden Away would have at least given the impression of anything other than "We stuck a Flag and Forever Orange Label on an off the rack kit and called it a day".
That patterning is similar to what I've seen on Mexico and Brazil jerseys in the past. They can certainly do something like that without changing a jersey's iconic look.
but isn't the spectrum between "way to plain and very creative" all subjective? i mean has anyone seen the 2013 Mexico (Adidas) & France (Nike) white away jerseys? they're both beyond plain, but they're both good looking jerseys IMO.
Philadelphia's third kit is nice, it's simple but it's very nice. I hate having to like other team's jerseys more than ours. But I'm sure the Dynamo FO are aware of some of the distaste for the new jersey and will strive to do better next time. Hopefully.
The Union Jersey is awesome. Officially petitioning for something similar to that or the orange checker board for next year.
I really like Nike over Adidas. Imagine this jersey in orange, or the same color with orange stripes.
Unbelievable!! Read the Union article and check out the time and research that was put into it. http://www.philadelphiaunion.com/ne...e-honors-soccers-deep-roots-philadelphia-area On the other hand, check out the conversation to come up with the Dynamo jersey. Ring, ring ring.... Mike Walker "Hey Crissy Can, when you have time please review the Adidas jersey on our website model XXX and i have a great idea, how about if we change the color to red and put the logo on it?" Cris Canetti "We are orange!" Mike Walker " We can do orange!" Cris Canetti "I'm not convince" Mike Walker "How about a little white stain on the top right corner that says "Forever Orange" Cris Canetti " That is awesome, do you think you can do that, do you have the man power to pull that off? Mike Walker " I think we do" Cris Canetti "Lets do it, we are going to kill it in sales!!!!!I'm a genious!!!"
I love Big Soccer. Some teams are going into administration. Others are in relegation battles. Some are having change in ownership. And we are worried about a plain home kit. This team will be around for a long time and there will be plenty of more kits-not all of them can be home runs. Let's not forget-our first jerseys were off the shelf but they were unique because he were the only guys that had them And every year we were the only guys in the league with that particular jersey, even with the evil swirl and the mismatched sleeve. So finally we had to share a template with some other teams. Oh well, I guess we are mortals after all. I do agree-that look like training jerseys. That was my first impression. But they know what they are going-I guarantee it. They now people will buy now to have it for the opener and early season and then will buy new ones when a sponsor gets signed. It may not be everyone, but even if you got them to see another 1,000 kits due to this reason, they are still making a cut. I think we'll see a sponsor in the summer time. Did someone say they will be seeing the keeper jerseys this time around?
has anyone seen these available anywhere other than the team store? The Adidas store in the galleria and the Sports Authority on Post Oak both got none.
I was just going to post that they have them at the Clay road Soccer4All. And seeing the authentics in person I withdraw all of my previous comments. They look nice and feel even better. It's not an exciting shirt. But it's not boring either. The material is different and I imagine that it will be significantly cooler than the normal climacool material. I might even purchase my first Authentic (I'm too cheap usually) once they get sponsors.
You can also order at the Soccer4All site and have it delivered to you or their nearest store. They've been distributing today.
Someone might have already said or thought this, but I feel like Adidas / MLS came to the Dynamo and asked them what they want in a jersey. The Dynamo responded with "Make it as light and breathable as possible (and orange)." (*it should be noted that I haven't felt the jersey but it looks light and airy). Yeah it looks like a training jersey and yeah our last jersey was really good looking, but it trapped heat in like crazy. The stitch on the old shirt was so tight it was like wearing a short sleeve sweater. Just make it breathable, put our crest on it (thats all that really matters on the shirt, and the two stars of course) and I'm happy. Hey, its not red and white "hooped"... win.
It's definitely lighter than last year's, which is highly welcome. We'll see how it breathes as temperatures rise, but it just feels like it'll breathe better. It's also slightly shorter than last year's - at least for my size. Last year's is about an inch or so longer.
