Hey Blaze... i realize that threads dont have something posted every day.. and threads take a week off, but the last post was yours of 5-30-12, and i wouldve thought someone would have posted scores or something from the games that have gone on these past 2 weeks. last thing posted that had anything to do with the team was May 23rd. im sure there was SOME news on the team from the 23rd to now. Hence the reason for my question if this was the only thread regarding DCFC. if there was another thread more up to date... i would look there. but thanks for your timely response.

Well, there isn't. Scores are regularly posted on the team's website so it's easy to find out results. The past two weeks:

Greater Binghamton FC 0 vs. DCFC 4
DCFC 2 vs. AFC Cleveland 3

If you follow the team on Twitter (@DetroitCityFC), they also livetweet all of the games. Plenty of other information out there as well from the Motor City Supporters and Northern Guard Supporters. I mean, I live in DC and have been able to keep up easily with the team (a testament to their commitment to social media).

Five of the six matches of the RBD have been played. So far: Buffalo (two draw, two loss, 4 Gf, 9 Ga, -5 Gd); Cleveland (two win, one draw, one to play, 9 Gf, 6 Ga, 3 Gd); Detroit (one win, one draw, one loss, one to play, 5 Gf, 3 Ga, 2 Gd).

    Raw scores:
DATE; H gol; V gol; HOME; AWAY
    13-May-2012; 0; 0; Buffalo; Detroit
    18-May-2012; 4; 2; Cleveland; Buffalo
    27-May-2012; 2; 2; Buffalo; Cleveland
    8-Jun-2012; 3; 2; Cleveland; Detroit
    16-Jun-2012; 3; 0; Detroit; Buffalo
    23-Jun-2012; #N/A; #N/A; Detroit; Cleveland

So a Detroit win would even the table with Cleveland. If I understand the line from the web page:
In case of a tie the teams tied will get 1 Derby Point for a "Goal For" and -1 Derby Point for a "Goal Against"....
I would think that the tie-breaker is overall goal-differential. (I am guessing that this line is describing the tie-breaker; there is no other explanation of this line.) In that case, a Detroit win (of any score) would tilt the GD to them.

If it is head-to-head, a Detroit win by two goals would give them the outright h-h. A win by 1-0 or 2-1 would even the goals, but Detroit would have the "away goals" in their favor. Of course, a 3-2 Detroit win would directly level the h-h.

So.... is there an RBD trophy already made? Incorporating the logo?

The trophy is almost complete though I have not seen it myself. Northern Guard Supporters are coordinating the creation of the trophy.

A win for DCFC on Saturday means we get the RBD Cup.

Man, this team sure gives up a lot of late goals to lose points.

A quick look at the divisional race. The team to beat is Erie, who need three wins in their four games to clinch the division outright. Erie seems to be the only divisional team to have their own fate in their own hands (or... on their own boots).

There are seven games left in the division; six are with the three contending teams. Of those, Cleveland-Erie play twice, Detroit-Erie once, and Erie-Cleveland once. There are four divisional games this weekend, with three involving the conteders. (Erie can actually clinch the division this weekend, with wins over both Cleveland and Detroit.)

Detroit and Cleveland can tie for the division. Haven't found anywhere on the NPSL site what the tie-breaks are, and I haven't ran through all the possible results of the remaining games, so I couldn't really say what the likelihood of all the combinations are.

One other thing: ten of 23 matches in this division have been ties. Four of the five teams have more draws than wins. That alone tends to keep teams bunched up in the table; no team has broken from the pack.

Setting aside my thoughts on the two teams, I wonder what this does with the schedule...how many games were in the schedule last year? I figure it could be a schedule where each team plays each other 3 times for a total of 15 matches, but that would be a very packed schedule given that NPSL prefers all play on weekends.

Hey, Blaz, your reply came about 20 minutes after mine. I guess I wasn't the only one browsing soccer sites on a late Sunday night while LA [v] SJ was on.

First, I hadn't realized that Binghamton wasn't meantioned in the piece. Possible they could be gone. The NPSL "teams" page only lists 2012 teams. The Binghamton site has no updates since the season end.

Last year, the division had 12 matches per team (three against each opponent). Assuming it stays at the six stated teams, you could just go with 10 matches (a complete home-and-home); or if you want to stay at 12, I would schedule another h+h against your "derby" team: Detroit [v] Sparta; Cleveland [v] Zanesville; Buffalo [v] Erie.

Plus, I wonder if they can tolerate playing "against the likes of" us.

I didn't even notice that the Bingos weren't on there. Judging from their operations on the road trip I went on to the field next to the "World's Largest Dome In America" (I kid you not, that's how they market it, even though it's half the size of the bubble that the Lions used to play in at the Silverdome parking lot), I wouldn't be surprised if they closed up shop.

These teams are also announcing themselves pretty early. I didn't think that DCFC announced they were forming until December of last year...I imagine that maybe another team could pop up between now and the end of the year to form a 6-team division with home and home for everything, including clean home and homes for the Rust Belt Derby.

With the new fonts MLS will be debuting this year, I'd thought I'd upgrade the Detroit City FC kits I made last year.

think you're joking, Scott. But that was exactly what I was thinking, also, when I first heard of the team. Think you know that Sparta Mich is affiliated with a team in Windsor. But thanks for the chuckle.
