Put it this way; winning a domestic league may be once every other season for a top player in a top club, but winning a CL is a once-in-a-career event for most top players. Drogba's; it is not even close.
Aguero's goal won the Premier League for Manchester City while Drogba's goal tied the CL final, sending it to extra time. While both were essential goals, Aguero's goal won the game outright. What if Bayern Munich had won the CL final in extra-time or on PKs?
I think you're right in this rule of thumb: "the winner takes it all" If both won the cup, Drogba > Kun If both lost the cup, Drogba > Kun (UCL final) If Chelsea lost cup, Kun > Drogba
Yes, although Chelsea had finished second in a CL much more recently than Manchester City had finished first or second in the EPL (before 2011-2012 for both of those).
Local tournament vs International tournament? ummm let me take my pick... I'll go international honors.. every time.. next we're going to compare scoring at the WC with scoring at the League Cup.
^ Some domestic competitions are more important than some international competitions. And of course the winning goals differ from goals that only make the situation a draw. Not saying I would pick Aguero's goal.
They are only important to those who live in that country. Romarinho's goal last year in the Libertadores probably caused more of an uproar in Brazil than both of the goals mentioned above. We have to start putting things into the right context. And when we're mentioning a world sport like football, in a forum which reaches across many different nations, we can't have local bias dictate the discussions, unless an opinion is asked, but when the response for said opinion is a different than yours, don't judge or discredit, simply put it into context and understand it. So for me which only follows Tottenham out of the EPL and was more worried about them trying to make the CL instead of who actually won the EPL. Kun's goal meant nothing. While the other one decided who would we be seeing in the CWC against the Libertadores winner, and my team Vasco still had a pretty good chance of being that Libertadores winner back then..
The CL goal, and it isn't close. CL>>>league, all day every day. The CL is the championship of the entire continent. The league just for the country. The CL takes 2 years to win because it's hard to qualify for. Chelsea's CL title was 100% deserved.
I don't think so. Top domestic competitions are followed by large international audiences, and they sure matter. Never discredited or judged, just disagreed.
I didn't discredit, I just gave you the point of view of a fan from a different country. A lot of people just didn't even know that Kun goal was scored. Remember 300 million watched the CL final.
Note that I asked from the point of view of the goal scorers. Did how many people watched the games affect how important Aguero and Drogba thought their goals were?
From the point of view of the goal scorer it's a very easy answer hahahaha.. THE ONE THEY SCORED HAHAHAHAHA.
