it's so clear we tied Uruguay because Rosero is a moron. Wow, if Vizuete had this team in his hand this entire tournament would be a different story. No one is gonna tell me that our back 4 last time were individually better than the 4 we have now, beside John Narvaez who was a stand out player. Ramirez > Fuertes, Leon > Quinonez, Velasco > Pineida. Anderson Ordonez is the only player without much experience in the campeonato. The rest of these guys all played 90 minutes in their club teams, not because they were forced to, but because these players were important pieces to each team. Rosero has just done a horrible job with this NT. Who the hell pulls back to defend for 30 minutes when you're only winning by 1 goal??? Vizuete would attack the hell out of any opponent til the last minute of every game, no exceptions. And he did it by improvising and placing Dennis Quinonez as a center back- and still that defense was way better collectively then this one. But individually, Rosero couldn't ask for more. The guys he has in defense are good, he just doesn't know what he's doing and the game against Uruguay made it even more clear to me.
I'd go for Parrales & Gutierrez or Gutierrez & Esterilla. Gutierrez is the best attacking player from Liga's youth system. Hopefully the kid gets minutes this year. He's definitely the player most fans from Liga scream for cuz Bauza doesn't give him a shot.
Wow nice comeback. I'm more impressed by that kid from Santos every game I see him play. Also Ramirez (I think is his name) from Independiente was really good. Other than that I wasn't impressed by none of the other players.
So I haven't checked all the possibilities, but looking at the tiebreakers, Ecuador goes through with several results on Friday. The largest set of possibilities for Ecuador moving on are: 1. a winner in the Brazil vs. Peru match (because the loser stays below Ecuador) PLUS, EITHER 2. A tie in the Uruguay vs. Venezuela match (because that would leave Venezuela out) OR 3. a winner in Uruguay vs. Venezuela so long as that winner is not Venezuela by only one goal ( because that would leave Ecuador behind both teams) A tie in Brazil vs. Peru is not a good result for Ecuador unless that tie is 0-0 (because that would leave Peru behind Ecuador)
Ecuador has 5 pts 0 gd ties vs Uruguay & vs Brazil, a win vs Peru & a loss vs Venezuela The top three teams from each group advance to the final phase for another round-robin tournament. In the end, the top four teams will qualify for Turkey 2013. For Ecuador to advance: Peru must lose to Brazil PLUS > Venezuela must lose or tie vs Uruguay OR Venezuela can beat Uruguay by 2 goals. >>>>Ecuador can be eliminated if Brazil & Peru tie 2-2 OR Venezuela beats Uruguay 1-0
Peru does not have to lose to Brazil or tie 0-0, they can also WIN and that would be just as good a result for Ecuador (so long as Uruguay does not lose by only one goal) To recap, the ONLY bad results for Ecuador are (i) a tie in Brazil v. Peru that is not 0-0 and (ii) a Uruguay loss by only one goal
or Brazil victory with Uruguay loss by 1 goal I predict Uruguay and Brazil will win on Friday and will go through to the next round along with Ecuador.
Correct. And just to be complete, even a 1-1 tie between Brazil and Peru is not itself disqualifying for Ecuador because Ecuador and Brazil would be dead even on the tiebreakers (Peru would advance) and will likely require a coin flip to decide whether Ecuador or Brazil advance (assuming of course that Uruguay does not lose its match by only one goal in which case the 1-1 tie scenario in Brazil v. Peru means Brazil and Ecuador go home) Lets hope it doesn't come to that.
We might make it to the next round, but i find it extremely difficult that this u-20 team makes it to the WC. Rosero is a horrible coach. We're not going any where with that man. Struggled like some sh*t just to beat peru? smh
With some luck we might just make it to the next round but I'm not too optimistic about our chances of qualifying to the U20 WC. We have the talent but what really worries me is that we do not have a presence in the box. This team struggles to score. Parrales has shown flashes of his talent but he is raw, inexperienced and needs more time to develop. I have liked what I have seen from Esterilla but he's not a striker, I think he will be better used playing as a winger.
Peru 2 Brazil 0 Final! Peru, Uruguay and Ecuador go through to the next round... In the other group Chile, Colombia and Paraguay went through. Wow, Brazil & Argentina are out of the U20 WC qualifiers.
Lol wow I can't believe this U20 tournament. Both favorites are out, and thanks to Peru we made it through. Come on kids give it all you got!
Can't stand these Colombian announcers on bein sports. All they they do is talk shit but in a polite way.
I don't understand why the coach Rosero waited to put in Francisco Cevallos until late in the second half. He changed the offense's dynamics. Even the announcers were saying he should have started. smh
I think they played well but Uchuari was a major disappointment this tournament. Good thing he is very young and have a lot to learn. Seriously is there ANYONE in Ecuador that knows how to teach these kids how to shoot? I mean damn, I have never seen a team miss so many opportunities. Other teams that have the same opportunities don't miss and somehow we miss. FEF should hire someone, anyone, that know how to teach these kids how to shoot properly. The passing is there, the creativity is almost there, but now we need some pin point shooting. Hire someone from Spain or something that can teach them...
In some ways Ecuador is almost a mirror image of Colombia. We miss a lot of chances too. There are a few differences though. Ecuador seems a lot better in the air/ crossing. Columbia has better technique on the ball and triangulations. Good luck the rest of the way.
This NT is just in hands of the wrong coach. So disappointing these kids won't see a WC b/c honestly they deserve it. They are all talented but they're looking dumb on the field. If we reach the WC it will be based upon other teams results helping us out. I doubt Ecuador pushes through and makes a big change this deep in the tournament.
Uchuari's play has been disappointing the last couple of games. In the game against Colombia, Cevallos came in and improved the play of the team. I watched the second half and I liked Sornoza. The kid looks a lot better when he's attacking through the middle. He's not the prototypical winger in the mold of Ibarra or Valencia. Another observation, I think Esterilla would be better used if you have him attack from the wing.
its frustrating to watch a game that could've been winnable in the first half. somehow you know that in the second, the other teams coach would make changes to better their team, but our coach is doing the opposite.seriously why is cevallos not a starter?same mistakes of old, player is one on one with goalie and waits an eternity to shoot and does it miserably wtf!first colombian goal total defense error, second goal, goalie error, but could have been a slip. the new goalie seemed a litlle more sure of himself and had cleared a dangerous goal with his head,a lilttle ballsy move that could 've had cost him but i admire that he had the guts to execute it.wish this seleccion had at least a strong finisher.hopefully we come out with more fire because we can go toe to toe with any seleccion.
