Damn time passes quickly, as far as I can ascertain my last post was over three years ago! Good to see you still knocking about El-capitano. I'll be popping in a bit this year I think the last few have just been so busy. I even made it over to South Africa this year... nothing will hold me back from Brazil!

Now to continue to recalibrate my inbuilt reaction to the name Graham Arnold....

Need to give Tianjin a right thrashing at Bluetongue tonight and hope Nagoya stumble.

    Can't see it happening.

    Jeez...

Well in CCM. Should have been 7-1.. some shocking misses there. Awesome strike by Amini. Massive game in Nagoya, best of luck.

Can you guys tell me anything about Tom Rogic?

My club (Reading) signed him yesterday from you, just wondering what to expect. One for the future I am guessing.

He's a good player mate. I think he comes from a futsal background and it shows in his touch and comfort with the ball at his feet.

He actually won this thing, run by Nike and went to the Nike academy:

We haven't seen an A-leaguer jump straight into premiership action yet, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get some minutes this season. He's creative and can score goals, he's central to the fact we're leading the league. Big loss for us and good luck to him. He's one of Australia's brightest prospects.

    Did they?

Why is he with Celtic at our training camp in Spain...?

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20959278

    http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/f...eague-for-celtic/story-e6frfg8x-1226550693076

Rogic, who is serving the third of a three-game ban this week, departs Sydney at 10am today to join Celtic at a training camp in Spain with the club merely wanting to see him before paying the Mariners' transfer valuation.
Celtic is confident of obtaining a work permit for the 20-year-old, who last week rejected a transfer to relegation-bound English Premier League club Reading.

Jumped the gun a little there...

Everything was agreed, there are even statements from the manager and owner of his current club about him joining us.....then we are rumoured to have changed the terms and asked him to complete a trial with us before we agree to him joining. It kicked off some questions about how serious we were and he pulled out. so the story goes.

Not sure how it will go with us (Celtic) then as we seem to be asking something along the same lines. Celtic are looking for permission from Central Coast Mariners to play him in our friendly against Steaua Bucharest, before offering a fee being quoted in the region of £400k.

We need a number 10. We're crying out for one. Especially domestically, where a lot of teams defend in depth against us. Obviously, in the champions league, the roles are reversed and we're set up to defend deep and hit on the counter but in Scotland, we really need someone who can open up a packed defence.

I'd imagine if the deal goes through he'll be integrated into the team gradually. A new league, country, lifestyle etc takes a bit of getting used to for anyone let alone a 20yr old. But Neil Lennon has a good track record of playing and developing youngsters.

James Forrest and Tony Watt are prime examples of this.
