I really hope that the weather will be better this time. That sucked standing in the cold rain for 7 hours last year.
They're putting our supporters next to their supporters??? Lmfao. This should be fun. In all seriousness that's just a stupid idea. Horrible. Shit will get started by one side or the other. That's a guarantee.
we stood next to them last year also (The Galaxian's i believe). they were actually kind of friendly, no seriously. ^^^ forgive me in advance if there was some secret double-probation incident the general public wasn't aware of last year.
I thought last year it was-supporters/season ticket holders/ACB which is their smaller supporter group. This year it will be- season ticket holders/Dynamo Supporters/LA supporters.
All tickets and reservations set. As cougarclaws growled -- in a hoarse voice that would put Batman to shame -- last night at the post-game pub: "I want revenge".
A bunch of ACB guys walked over and chatted with us on the concourse at halftime last year. All good. With some exceptions, home SG members usually appreciate what visiting supporters are doing. The asshats who try to start shit with visiting fans generally tend to be non-SG random home fans.
haha-I went to the LA/RSL Cup in SEA a few years back. Walking out (or running as I had a red eye to catch) down the stairs some ass clown sees my orange and is like, wow some team, you guys suck. I was like really and who did you guys lose to this year in the playoffs (loud enough for everyone around to hear). I still remember what his buddy said to him "dude shut the hell up, he's right. you are drunk and you sound like an idiot!"
So are we going to do that kind-of-awkward thing again this year where we have a 90-minute truce with the Chivas USA fans (both of them) and sing songs against LA? I believe they offered us the use of their drums, which I thought was pretty respectable of them considering they didn't know we would have so many of our own.
OffTopic but at this point you can't hate CUSA fans. The CUSA Sgs have my respect for still exsisting. Seriously. Talked about a fcuked up situation over there....
My impression was that ACB stretches into 120 and 119. Am I wrong on that? (that is what prompted my statement since having houston supporters in 118 and ACB in 119 is a recipe for disaster.)
Yeah, I bought two upper reserved at $68.75 each in the Visa presale. I hit it right at 10 PST and got the two cheapest available tickets. After finishing the transaction, I looked again out of curiosity and there weren't two seats together available at any price level. So I guess there weren't many tickets available in the presale, and I lucked out. MLS and VISA must have a contractual obligation to hold some sort of "VISA Presale."
LA and Dynamo supporters close to each other cause problems? Nah, bro, Dynamo fans aren't known for causing a ruckus.
In fairness to LA, they had to set some tickets aside for the visiting team and picked those sections because they probably have the fewest season ticket holders to relocate and aren't terrible seats. The Galaxy seating chart lists one of those sections as the family pack section so I assume that's where they put the McDonald's 4-pack folks normally. Dynamo would have had to make room at BBVA Compass the same way. Now, where I will point out a lack of foresight by the Dynamo is not coming up with a way to get United - supposedly a team sponsor - to add a flight or two or even put together some sort of charter package flown by United to go for the game that day and then come back that night that includes tickets. They'd turn a profit on that and engender goodwill with some STHs. Many pro teams put these together, mainly NFL teams. Not that I expect much out of the CHICAGO-BASED United Airlines when it comes to Houston. But I was sort of surprised that the team didn't attempt some package deal that would appeal to some who value time over cost. I've done similar trips before for different events and if done properly it can be hassle-free and a good experience, even if pricier than do-it-yourself options. But sort of the same issue as last year - tickets available, but the other costs such as short-notice airline flight cost add-up to make the cost prohibitive or frankly just more than many want to spend for a one-game deal. Or logistically people don't want to burn 7 hours connecting thru Denver for an LA flight or stay from Friday to Monday to save $200 on plane tickets. Look, I understand the team can only do so much since they don't "own" the event and won't make any money on it. But blast emailing the code late on a Sunday night and then being done with it is a real minimialist approach.
I brought up that flight option to somebody, and I never got a response. I just got a weird look. However, this was before the Dynamo officially qualified. Hahaha! You're right on all accounts like always, except I think we'll get around 1,500+ fans out there, maybe even 2000 if everything lines up.
No kidding. It is easy being a supporter/fan of a consistently winning and successful organization like the Dynamo. Supporters who stick by their team that is constantly struggling and trying to figure it out -- now that is hard and is due copious respect.
1,500 seems about right. I believe the Dynamo allocation of tickets is gone, not sure about usage vs. resale, but it will be a good showing with 2 weeks to plan. Not surprising they never thought about a package or charter, too abstract for their way of thinking and sort of minor league to not think of it. The high AXS fees are worth more than goodwill.
