Their employers would do well to insist they stay in Jersey another day. Drunks at work Thursday would be disruptive.
Unfortunately, the 1530 Saturday kickoff is more than 36 hours after the game would end on Thursday. The MLS website still shows 1530 on Saturday, too.
Also, Goff just tweeted that MLS and NYRB are paying for buses to take fans back to the game tomorrow.
And, "good news", Glen Davis just announced during the Houston/KC game that the first leg of the ECF is moved to Sunday at 1600.
I can't get the single tweet to post but Ives G is reporting the first leg moved to Sunday. https://twitter.com/SoccerByIves?protected_redirect=true Thx, Jay!
MLS has lost a lot of credibility with this BS... when my Italian friends will roll on the ground laughing at me pointing their finger, I'm just going to bow my head and walk away speechless...
Like any number approaching tonight's could possibly take them up on that. They're going to get home tonight around 2am-3am. They're going to be back at RFK for another trip up at less than 12 hours later, assuming they can afford to take a SECOND day off work? I'd be impressed if 30 people make the drive up.
The worst part about all of this is, Garber will after all of this is over in 2 days go back to trying to get a fictional team a stadium in NYC proper, when the actual team from the area cant get its own act together.
Maybe Garber planned this. "I'll send DCU a bunch of tickets for free and then they'll have to make a 6 hour drive back when the game gets cancelled. HAHAHAHA"
From twitter way to go boys!! Every #DCU player is in the upper deck with the team's supporters - taking photos, shaking hands, chanting. This is United. D.C. United ✔ DCUnited #DCU players have now climbed into the upper deck with the club's supporters to thank them personally. Chants abound. D.C. United ✔ DCUnited United's entire team has come out in the snow to thank the 700+ #DCU fans who traveled tonight. Chants echoing in Red Bull Arena.
Yeah I'm watching on TV and my wife, who has no more than a passing interest, was laughing at 15 people with snow shovels trying to clear the field.
I don't expect anything good from this league. So ******** it. All I want now is for Mary to get home safe.
Gutless. NYRB. MLS. Both of them handled this in an unbelievably unprofessional and embarrassingly amateurish manner.
