THE AMERICAN PEOPLE HAVE CHOSEN A LEFT WING SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT. THEY HAVE CHOSEN A PRESIDENT WHOSE POLICIES HAVE FAILED.
The government will be in charge of administering Obamacare. They will have appointed officials deciding on care. The government is raising taxes on those middle class people who don't have insurance.
It has been known to correctly deploy the phrase "crony capitalist" in this context. Not sure why it's glitching now.
Not a failure yet but a potential failure if the Obama administration continues it's heavy handed marijuana policy like they have in California. The people have spoken in Washington and Colorado. It's time for the feds to stand down.
It controls production because there is a tax on medical devices. Some companies have chosen not to build production plants due to Obamacare. http://www.forbes.com/sites/realspin/2012/08/08/the-federal-governments-war-on-medical-innovation/
Absolutely. They should give marijuana free and the government should pay for it. Give it to anyone of any age who wants it. NOT!
Schapes - we have given you tons of leeway in this thread because of its title. But you're off topic and trolling even for this thread, so stop right away.
So, because there is an alleged tax on some medical devices, government controls the means of production? [retry?] True
I think they will. Obama does a lot of this tough-guy stuff for show, centrist voters want him to macho up, otherwise they will Dukakis him. Now that he's won a 2nd term he doesn't need to worry about the testosterone show. Note that he mentioned climate change in his victory speech last night, after being scared away from saying such a thing before the election. He can be different now.
Any Republican who talks about the deficit is a troll. Obama has made feeble attempts at addressing the deficit, but they are still attempts. The Republicans have pledged via Grover Norquist to expand the deficit.
That was my hope. Fiscal cliff, deficit, all that aside... we'll obviously be dealing with those. But I'm really hoping that Obama can somehow manage to get a) step 1 (whatever that may be) in dealing with the long term impacts of climate change on the US and/or b) an end (or major de-escalation) to the WoD as signature legislation for his 2nd term.
I think the country is facing some serious problems (economy, debt, climate change, etc. to name a few) that will be difficult and painful to fix. because of the pain that fixing these problems will cause, I think it's a lose/lose proposition to anyone who is going to give an honest effort to try to fix it, rather than take the easy way out and kick the can down the road. the memory of the good old 90s is still too fresh in people's minds, and that is what they're nostalgic for. they don't understand that you can't go back to that. the problems our country faces today preclude a return to the good old days of the 1990s. but any attempts to tackle the problems will inevitably face comparisons to how it was in the 90s, and of course, nothing will measure up to that (economic prosperity, US unquestioned and only superpower both militarily and geopolitically).
Yes. Part of President Obama's failure when it comes to Obamacare is just this example. The government is controlling production by implementing a tax on devices to fund Obamacare. Without Obamacare - 1500 more people would have jobs that now don't. So that is a failure to recognize that Obamacare is stunning growth. Which as I said is a failure in policy.
The question still hasn't been answered: what happens if President Obama fails to deal with the debt as he has failed to do in his first term and it balloons to 22 or 23 trillion dollars after 4 years? Will his presidency then be considered a failure?
same thing that happened for the last 10 presidents who failed to address the debt - nothing. they kicked the can down the road.
However at what point does the debt become crippling to the economy. Failure to address this by President Obama would be huge. Look at Greece. Does President Obama want the US to become like Greece where the debt to GDP ratio is over 100 percent. That would be a failure on President Obama's fault. At some point the debt will cripple the country. I think President Obama fails to realize this.
