The ceremony for the Final Round Draw of World Cup qualifying in CONCACAF will take place Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. ET in Miami#USMNT https://twitter.com/ussoccer/status/264723729056141312
Meh, it's not like there can be a "group of death" or anything, there being only one group at this stage. Just whether or not anyone gets their preferred home and away dates is all (everyone would love to finish at home, Mexico would prefer to face us at home at the height of summer when the air is dirtiest, while we would prefer to face Mexico at home in February, etc.). Much, much less influential than who gets drawn into which group with whom.
The reason for the draw was because no one wanted to play Mexico last and thus a schedule cold not be made, that's why the draw is being held. Honestly I thing this is the best way to go about things
I'm also holding out hope for additional live coverage on ESPNews, ESPN Deportes, ESPN3 and Univision Deportes. Both Sunil and Jurgen take up the option for the trip to Miami and a night at the The W South Beach. Panama also sending two reps to the draw. Seems simple enough. Although it wouldn't surprise me if Concacaf somehow messes it up and puts two "#1" balls in Pot 2 without a ball containing "#6".
i really care what match day 10 matches are jamaica is the only one who wont be playing for a chance suspect mexico will have clinched, and usa will have 4th minimally locked up
Seems simple enough, agreed, with the possible exception of sorting out Mexico's June schedule to accommodate their Confederations Cup trip to Brasil. We had one of our matches moved up - the BB Costa Rica special, iirc - last time around.
confed cup only gets you rated higher by fifa, the hex gets you to brasil, mexico is almost a sure bet, let them play their team into the ground
one of the six will have to start away twice i remember reading. that could really a team behind the 8-ball and end your qualifying before it really begins.
Univision Deportes Network will have live coverage of the draw on Wednesday night 7PM EST. I am not sure who will be covering it in English.
I actually disagree. I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing to have 2 road games to start the hex. If you lose both, it will certainly put more pressure on your home games, but if you can get 2+ points, you are in really good shape. Even 1 point is fine and 0 points isn't dooming.
If you are USA or MEX sure but imagine Jamaica with Zero points after 2 games into the Hex. Their chances were very slim to begin with but after that they are done. I think Panama, Honduras, and CR are in the same boat.
every team has 5 road matches and 5 home matches... it should not matter the sequence of them, if you hav 2 road to start with you have 8 matches left with 5 of them at home by the time match day 10 rolls around, everyone is equal in road matches played
