Yeah if Huntelaar is going to play, he will start tanking goals and get close to Patrick Kluivert.

On another note. Van Gaal has said that Clasie would have been the best option on midfield of the senior squad. Maher would also be better options probably than Afellay as Maher is very fit. He has said this against "Nu Sport". However the entire staff has chosen to let them play for Dutch U21 team to qualify for the the Euro in June 2013.

I first was mad, but this is actually pretty smart. The WC 2014 is one year later and how do you let these new kid gain rapid experience? Are we expecting them to do well in their first tournament and carry us to a WC, bossing midfield against Spain, Germany and Brazil? No. So Clasie and Maher will go to the youth tournament with the aim to win it and for that they must qualify in over 2 games:

This actually tells me they are thinking long term and these players are in their long term plans. :)

I doubt Slovakia U21 is worse than Andorra and the Bulgaria match would have been a good test but I think the experience gained from a whole tournament is outweighing this one. Plus the rest of the year there will be enough qualifiers and friendly's to work on chemistry.

Here van Gaal sets the record straight about his early trip to Brazil. Journalist Jack van Gelder has also traveled to Brazil, to look after a house, to present his show and van Gaal is forced by certain dates to know what he want in an early stage. He also makes known he will probably go another time to check on things.

Here van der Wiel is discussed. The argument again is that van der Wiel does not always play in combination with van Gaal being happy with how van Rhijn and Janmaat are doing.

Dutch NT will play 11 vs 11 game against ADO as the Dutch NT has not enough players to do that by their own.

Van der Vaart is screened by multiple scouts and is considered super fit.

Buttner has to play more to be considered at the cost of the current selected left backs. I did read between the lines that if others would be injured he might become an option. That is my personal interpretation though.

Have Andorra ever won a competitive football match? I see in their last 10 matches that they couldn't beat Liechtenstein.

Van Gaal expects that Mathijsen will play for Feyenoord and by that can be called up. Robben is a more difficult story, but when he is indicating he can play he will also be part of the squad as van Gaal is considering Robben fit when Robben considers himself fit.

Robben is an unfortunate miss, but hopefully this will give us a chance to get a closer look of the other options available... Narsingh, Lens, and Schaken. Looks like Afellay is included as part of the attacking force, I am still hoping that Van Gaal will give him a run in central midfield alongside Vaart (logical replacement for Sneijder) and Clasie. No Jetro Willems, I guess LB is Viergiever. Martins Indi should really play in center (which I think this will be his position long term).

EDIT: Oops, just realized that Clasie was omitted. Weird.

Janmaat and Van Rhijn are not better then Van Der Wiel who plays in better competition and has more experience.

Mathijsen still considered is beyond a joke.

Viergever is not ready and clearly lacks the experience as well.

I like Heitinga but he is not playing all the time.

    Vlaar is crap

    So my next question.....

    Louis what about Douglas?

Oh yeah regarding other selections I cannot understand Schaken. Why?

I'd like to see Emauelson get a shot in this game either at LM or LW. I also find it slightly discouraging that van Gaal still considers Mathijsen an option.
    Maybe an XI of:
    Stek
van Rhijn - Heitinga - Viergever - BMI (or vice versa)
    de Jong
    Afellay - - VdV
    Van Persie - - Lens - - Emanuelson

    Stekelenburg

van Rhijn - Heitinga - Viergever - BMI

    Strootman - NDJ - Urby

    Lens - KJH - Afellay

Rest the likes of RVP and VDV, they are so important for their new teams that I'm sure they don't mind sitting one out.

KJH and Afellay have both scored against Wolfsburg, game is in it's 75th minute. LVG should try them out together for Oranje.

Anyway bad news, he's called up to replace Matthijssen.

I wonder who's going to play LB. Viergiever was far from convincing against Twente, granted AZ had a numerical disadvantage. Andorra is not exactly a threatening attack, so I hope LVG goes wild, uses Urby at left back and pushes him closer to midfield, essentially playing with 3 men at the back: Van Rhijn, Heitinga (or Douglas), and Martins Indi.

I agree. Stick a couple of pacey backs in the team and let them play like false wingers (in a Rosales stylee). It's not like much defending will be required.

Van Gaal just pisses me off. If BMI has been playing in central defense for Oranje, why not keep him in that role? No reason to be move in at leftback. give him more run in that central role to gain more experience.

Then who to play left back? Viergever who almost never plays there? Calling up Büttner who is not playing for United? BMI has played left back quite some time at Feyenoord and in the chance creation department he was pretty good against Belgium from that position.

But I thought van Gaal had stopped seeing him as a left back. He himself is not a big fan of that spot either I believe.

    http://www.nusport.nl/mixed-zone/2928971/emanuelson-wil-best-verdedigen-in-oranje.html

Left back is not a problem according to Urby. He played there for a while too in last weekends match vs Inter. He played the majority of the match as a right winger (and was their most important and sought out player oddly enough) and was eventually switched in an offensive left back role.

He once again demonstrated his best sliding tackle in the world btw. He's so awesome at that.

And imo if Emanuelson can't play wing back, then Willems and Janmaat cannot either.
