There were a series of articles around the beginning of the season. Supposedly when RvP met with Gazidis and Wenger, he wanted some players gone and some brought in. He had a fallout with Ramsey after the City game (?) over the missed chance. AFCAMDEN posted a bunch of Tweets that were reported here:

Amy Lawrence touched on his outlandish demands without getting into specifics.....

You can take the Tweets with a pinch of salt if you wish but the dude has some pretty solid followers. I don't think any mainstream journo would come out and say that kind of stuff. Kind of like the Song situation. He said, she said.

I remember this stuff. I inferred from your post that you were talking about some new info. No worries.

Good for Robin, I don't detest him. provided he doesn't score against us, i'm happy.

Flame if you will, but are we missing Song? Or even Robin? In all of our competitive games thus far, have we played badly? Including the initial 0-0 draws, I would say no.

A missed chance in injury time when Balotelli had been sent off? lol..

I think he got too big for his boots, and I get the suspicion Arsene and the board realised this. I despise football cliches, but "no man is bigger than the club".

It's pretty undeniable that our midfield so far has been great, but up front we have been disappointing and Van P**sy could have made a big difference in matches like the one against Citeh and Chelsea. But yeah if he really did demand that Ramsey be sold then it sounds like he never had much desire to stay with us and is just looking to burn his bridges.

I agree 100%. I do think that we would be a much better team with him. He is one of the top 5 strikers in the world.

+1. So far I don't think we miss Song at all. But it's pretty clear for me at least we're missing RVP pretty bad.

I prefer the way we are playing now, without RVP. I predict we will finish with more points than last year with the disclaimer that watching set plays against us is like having a heart attack every time.

It's not a question of one or the other. People are saying that the way we are playing in the midfield plus RVP would make us possibly the best team in the league and probably top of the table right now.

RVP is a classic CF. We are playing without a CF, in effect. We line up Gerv at center but he's playing more like a mid - not the wingman for RVP that he played last year.

I suppose one could hypothesize that we would play like this if RVP were here:

    ---------------RVP----------
    ----pod------santi--------gerv
    ----------Arteta----Diaby------
    -------x-----x-----x------x---

I'm not crazy about that lineup. I think we have more motion w/out RVP, while we admittedly have inferior finishing.

In our present set up, however, we have better defence.( Gerv is a better defender than RVP, and we can use Ox or Walcott on the right wing).

I believe it is "one or the other".

You've got to be kidding me. RVP is a classic center forward? Where were you when people were complaining about Wenger playing van Persie out of position as a lone striker?

The best thing about van Persie is that you can play him as a 9, a 10 or on either wing (7 or 11, if you like) and he'd be great at any of them.

He would fit right into this system.

I'm of the belief that we wouldn't have Santi or likely Podolski if RVP were still here.
