Its hard to tell if your trolling, you aren't reading the posts people are making, or if you just can't comprehend basic English. Its very frustrating.
It's you're. Trust me, it will be just fine. There's a reason why BB started to transition away from his traditional 4-4-2 in the end, and rely on a more 'CM' congested midfield to clog the bleeding. Designating a more stay at home def mid to cover in the center of the park, won't work... not even if it is JJ or Bradley staying back... leave any player back there to cover so much ground while 3 of the 4 mids go up to attack... no bueno. We need to have a higher pushing defensive line to close that gap. I don't think we have a good enough defensive line to pull that off.... for now.. clogging the midfield with CM's will have to work... until we can figure out how to transition better to score more goals...
You might very well be right. Which is why it is that much more disturbing that JK has taken a year before even beginning to address the real problem, our CB situation. And so long as the solution is to just clog the midfield with defensive minded players, our offense will sputter against even the weakest of opponents.
I'm on GV's side of the argument, but just wanted to chime in to say this whole exchange was awesome.
Don't get me wrong.. I am all for doing anything to get our offense to pump in more goals... but at the cost of leaking them again? That's what hurt us vs. Ghana in the WC.... IMO trying it second time around, but designating a CM to play more of a '6' beckerman role... still wouldn't fix our issues we had with the 4-4-2 in the past.
I honestly think what hurt us against Ghana was that they just had better players than we did. Not much else to it, the difference was guys like Gyan, Asamoah, and Kevin Prince. That's just me but its definitely something that gets looked past on these boards as one of the reasons for us losing. They could have very easily gotten to the WC Final imo. Having said that, i understand your argument. I don't want to leak goals either but there has to be a better way, and I think it begins with having players on the pitch with the necessary closing speed to press the ball and force poor players into making poor decisions, thus gaining back possession. Guys like Beckerman simply don't have that closing speed.
Hey, I am not the professional writer out there. I am lucky if I can pick out where to put periods in my run on sentences.
I think too, having a higher pushing defensive line would help with those issues..... but that is WAAAAY risky to try with our D line.... but I like the idea of it in my head lol.
Not sure it's been posted, but here's Klinsmann on tactics in the loss to Jamaica: "...and they got back into the game with a free kick. They won the game with another free kick. So you don't even need to talk about tactics because that has nothing to do with whether you played a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 or whatever. You lost the game because of 2 free kicks."
"You lost the game because you couldn't score another goal, you twit, and that's entirely due to tactics..."
American Press: "Coach Klinsmann, what were your thoughts going into the match in Kingston, regarding tactics?" Jurgen: "Look guys, I have grown a bit weary about discussing these tactical questions. Each of you could see that I put three forwards in to try to score at the beginning, the Jamaican free kicks were the problem."
after reading that, I need someone with better internet skills than me to put up a Force Ghost image meme from the end of Return of the Jedi with Ben Konobi, Yoda and Bob Bradley. Get the ball wide, huh?
Vasquez: "Jorge... the natives are restless." Klinsmann: "¿Qué pasa?" Vasquez: "Rumors that several plan to skip the October call, feigning colics and gout." Klinsmann: "No importa. Kyle, Edu, Danny and many others are happy to be here." Vasquez: "Half of them didn't come to the Motivational Puppet Show session..." Klinsmann: "What? I told them clearly it wasn't optional!" Vasquez: "They went to the field to practice set pieces instead..." Klinsmann: "The fools... undisciplined... locos, todos... bringt mir meine Kerzen! The mango-scented ones! Quick... my blood pressure...."
wait. Does that mean we played with a #10? If only it had been Adu. shots from distances and crosses will help open a bunker if you aren't skilled enough to tika-tak your way through. Running into the box really fast with the ball is also not a bad idea now and again as you might get fouled (I mean for us to try! There was a yellow team that had figured that out.)
Based on the quotes from Dempsey and Altidore, it seems as though the players are questioning the tactics and Klinsmann is starting to lose the locker room. We're one result away from Klinsmann forcing everyone on the team to create a dream board and stare at it for hours on end.
Or a another motivational speaker: We must begin by asking it... What is losing?" Losing is a disease... as contagious as polio. Losing is a disease... as contagious as syphilis. Losing is a disease... as contagious as bubonic plague...
It would seem the players and the fans are in agreement about the midfield, the tactics, formation, creating chances, etc. However...is JK?
The media seems to be turning against Klinsmann too. I've seen more than one article in mainstream media saying Klinsmann is f'ing up royally. If the guy has lost the locker room, whether we get a result tonight or not, it might be necessary to move on. Hard to motivate players that don't believe in your system and philosophy.
