Now I'm starting to get scared of injuries to other KPAs. So much euphoria after the Olympic bronze and now reality hits.
It looks like more will be needed to assess whether surgery is actually warranted or not. If the ligaments in his right ankle are weakened enough or torn, he may require surgery to repair them via a fairly common procedure. However, he'll need further examination and an x-ray to determine whether or not this is actually the case and not another confounding issue like dysfunction with his peroteneal tendon, which is usually not clinically significant enough to necessitate surgery. The problem is that this could be a dangerous precedent, especially if he continues to play but develops chronic pain and instability to his ankle -- which will certainly require some sort of surgical repair down the road.
LKH's been on fire lately, and I think we'll manage the WCQ fine with him. Hope this is just a short-term knock for KJC.
Personally, I wouldn't care if they could turn into cross-dressers as long as they perform on the pitch.
