Based on the numbers in the thread, we have 50 so far. Assuming that there are many more coming who have not posted (10 to 20 for every one posted), I would estimate we might have 500 or 1000 people so far. Are we going to get up to 6000?
I heard second-hand on Thursday at lunch that the number of persons registered was already in excess of 1500. As mentioned at the outset, this is getting play in the broader San Jose community beyond the fan base. It WILL fill up. And if you don't register in time, don't say you weren't warned.
Why not? My guess is that the entire FO will be required to be there, and anyone else associated with the club.
+1....will break away from my duties setting up the visiting locker room to be there. Can't miss this !!!!
+1 Flying in from North Carolina to be there. I suggest Quakes fans from around the country do the same!
A Awesome Mike! You were a big part of the stadium process so I am glad you will be there. I wonder if you will win the award for the person travelling the farthest distance to attend the event.
On the Portland broadcast, Jim K said that more than 3500 people had signed up. Not quite enough for the record yet. One month to go.
I didn't realize they'd blown you off, fqk! I asked Dave today about the number of signups to date. He said 3800, as I recall (it has been a looooong day). I was going to mention the meter idea but then my brain exploded from overexposure.
BTW, my friend and I will be there for the groundbreaking even though we do not have tickets to the game. Can anybody hook me up with two tix? I'll make it worth your while by presenting you with a specialized groundbreaking commemorative gift(s) that I am working on (plus $$ for the tix of course). . .{even if it's standing room only type tix}. . .
Per Kaval's Kickoff, we are up to 4700 registered. Accounting for some no shows, we are very close to the record. Three weeks to go.
Unfortunately, I will not be attending this event as much as I have looked forward to this day for many years.
Based on a KLIV radio interview clip with Dave Kaval this morning, it HAS filled up. Kaval mentioned, however, that more are welcome to participate. They would simply need to bring their own shovels.
Terrible news for me...probably can't go due to afamily Buddhist blessing event for a wedding. Don't know yet. Hopefully i can do the groundbreaking but miss the game.
Good news for sure. My cousin backed out, but I recruited a friend to take his place. We'll be there to line up for the shovels!
+4 On the radio today, they said something like 5,600 had signed up, and they said to bring your own shovel in order to be counted. You must dig for 2 minutes. I just realized, if This event goes from 12-1:00, then it's a bit of a wait until kickoff.... Plus traffic in and out will be a nightmare
