And hopefully his performance at Hampden Park during the Olympics bodes well for future performances with Celtic ;)

a (very) little spark of hope...
Koki Harada (japanese england-based journalist ) tweet:
    大津祐樹はどこかのイングランドのクラブと交渉をしていると思われますが、いまだどこか特定できません…。誰か教えて…。移籍市場締め切りまで、あと1週間しかありません。

he thinks that there still is an english club negoziating with Otsu, but doesn't know who it may be.

As usual at this time of year Celtic have been linked with a host of players, the most recent being Japanese duo, Maya Yoshida and Yuki Otsu.
The 22-year-old Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder scored in the win over Spain in this summer's Olympics at Hampden while team mate Yoshida, 23, is a central defender currently with Dutch side VVV Venlo.
Lennon said: "He (Otsu) is a player we like but we will probably not do anything this window and we will keep tabs on him for now.
"We have been working away in the background for quite a while for three or four players but whether we get over the line with those players I don't know but I can't see us bringing anyone in before next Wednesday.
"I am aware of Yoshida, I watched him play for Japan against Spain and I liked the look of him but with regards us being interested or making an offer it is pure speculation at the minute."

Why japanese footballers always have to live this frustating situation to stay in a club that DON'T wanna use them? Transfer now and stop to waste your most important years of improvement!

Now I don't think that it's something that happens only to japanese footballers. See Krasic who spent a year not even on the bench.

Also today not even on the bench.
I can only ask this: why did they buy him in the first place? Favre was ALREADY the coach in Summer 2011, so why the hell did they buy him? To warm up the bench or - better than that - a sitting place in the stadium? Did they need an extra fan?

    Dat Favre, what a dush.
    He's losing. And i'm happy.

    Edit: ******** they scored.

I bet they read our conversation.
They got scared when they realized that I forecasted relegation due to no new japanese player sign.

    Good luck, Yuki.

The fact they sold him instead on loaning him shows how much faith they had in him, if I were a Borussia fan I'd be mad, not because he's a world beater, he's not, but his Olympics weren't a fluke.

I'm glad he's moved where he can get enough playing time. I don't know what's going happen at VVV Venlo, but it's better than BM for Otsu.

btw, I think the chairman/director, CEO or whatever is an admirer of Japanese players or Japanophile. since Honda, they club always had a japanese players.

And just seem having a Japanese name on their roster is a good luck noting that they could stay afloat in Eredivise.
