I thought it might be nice to start a thread for our favorite sources of Viola information from the web, and new things as they come out. To start it looks like the official page is now in English, for those of us who are more comfortable with that language. http://en.violachannel.tv/ Also, Fio.it has recently released an iPhone application for those who have that capability. http://www.fiorentina.it/notizia.asp?IDNotizia=92009
google translator always made the official site get weird. Using my tiny bit of italian skills was a fun challenge but its nice to have the english version now. The club are trying to branch out to more people i see.

I hate that football-italia.net now has all those videos that auto-play on every page. Any other similar English language Italian news sites? And not goal.com... I mostly use... fiorentina.it firenzeviola.it fiorentinanews.com and the official club site
Not that I've found, at least not of the same quality. And those are the same sites that I use (though lately time has been an issue).
So I'm making one... It's at www.CalcioReport.com Still very much a work in progress (just started yesterday) so if anyone has any suggestions/requests, let me know.
haha Well my immediate goal is to get at least one story for every team up there just so that I can see how the left sidebar will look. Working on a Kharja/Viola midfield story now.
Thanks. Yeah I work a shizz ton of hours but my lady is going away for a couple weeks in September so I should be able to get a lot on there without the "where are my passionate keesses..." (she's foreign) drain.
nice website Nick! i remember you from xtratime... so glad to find this forum that seems a bit more active than over there
Thanks man. I remember you. I always liked Xtratime and I went to sign in there maybe a year ago and I couldn't figure out my password and I know longer own the domain name I had the email address through so I just gave up. Nice to see you! BigSoccer is far from perfect but the Roma fans are really adorable over here.
ah i see... it seems a few other people here were xtratime regulars back then too. i haven't watched a Fiorentina match in a looooooooooong time save for match highlights. and reading reports and news from the usual football-italia and goal.com what do you think should be a reasonable expectation for this year? CL place?
I think that we have the talent to challenge for the top 3-4 spots. Honestly we could realistically finish anywhere from 2-8 with 4-6 most likely, in my opinion.
An interesting read about the managerial change. I don't necessarily agree with the approach, as the writer outlines reasons for the change but the premise he uses for the article is about doing business based on unsound footballing decisions. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/column...fiorentina-axing-of-sinisa-mihajlovic?cc=5901
Not sure where this belongs but it deserves a mention.... Addio Socrates!
Apparently there is now a facebook for Fiorentina fans. Faceviola.it There is a (somewhat broken) English option.
Doing some writing for Forza Italian Football. Mostly gonna do Viola and Torino stuff. Here's my first one.
In case anyone cares about such things the English language Fiorentina blog from The Offside has moved to SBNation, the new blog is www.violanation.com SBNation seems to finally be embracing non MLS/EPL football, Fiorentina follows in the footsteps of Milan, Inter, Juve and Roma to get a blog so we are in good company.
