Sad to see Song go. Thought all the Barca rumors were media hype.

I think we'll bring in one or two more, but for me, the most important thing is sorting out these leeches we have riding the bench, doing nothing to push others on the squad forward: Bendtner, Chamakh, Park, Squillaci...and maybe Arshavin and Djourou.

It's unlikely we get rid of all these guys, but that's three (four if you count Arshavin) strikers who have no shot, IMO, of ever contributing to Arsenal going forward. For some reason I'm still holding out hope for Arshavin, but even I know that's foolish.

With these donkeys gone, Arsene could promote some more youngsters who'd be chomping at the bit to get playing time. Or we bring in experienced first-teamers from elsewhere. Either option would be better than having all this dead weight riding the pine.

Well anyway, I wish nothing but the worst for Song and van Persie in this new year of football.

Oh, and I think bringing in another striker is the top priority, more so than a d-mid. As my post above illustrates, more than half our strike force are pretty much done as Arsenal players. Giroud and Podolski are the only ones with cemented spots and they're both in their first year.

    Not a good situation.

Unfortunately I don't think we have anyone that's close to making the jump at the moment.

I love your " FACT" thing......Very convincing. lol
Don't try to be that obtuse and totally miss the point. It is clear. This generation, from Nasri to RVP, Song etc... They did not bring crap to the club. Underachievers. That is a FACT.
If on top of it, they don't want to play for AFC, they can take the door behind and get lost.
Glad that Arsene is showing them the way.

Actually the thing with Bould happened in Cologne so separate incidents. But I thought the issue with the Boss was also reported by one of the BBC guys but I need to check.

You're probably right, and honestly I don't know a ton about our youth players, but I've heard good things about Gnarby, Aneke and Watt. Campbell and Myachi are now on loan. Miquel and Yennaris and Lansbury have all played with the first team. Would rather have them working into the full squad than those I listed.

Basically, my point is that if we're going to see our best players, we've got to sell our worst as well.

Maybe it's time to throw Walcott up front as an out-and-out striker, but I'm not really convinced of his quality.

I need to start a twitter account and do some serious trolling. People will believe anything they read. "@AFCamden heard that @JackWilshere isn't really injured, actually been on strike since last August to force a move to WestHam."

Funny AT3. Nope...it is not me... :). I am not as well connected.
In any case, on the Song story, I don't recall reading about or hearing an incident between Song and Wenger. However, the most common issue was that Arsene was feed up with Song antics and his behind the scenes shenanigans to force a move to Barca that have been going on for a while now. He was becoming a rotten eggg in the locker room and Arsene had enough.
The Bould story may have some legs as well.

You should start one, but i doubt people would take you seriously though.
In any case, so far the dude has been spot on with his informations.
The first info about Cazorla to AFC and RVP to MU came from him.

i don't know, anti. i know it was less than 3-4 starters but we gelled pretty quickly last season after all those players were brought in at the deadline and quite a few of these guys came before the (pre)season even started. not the best way to operate to be sure but at least that's something.

well, of the kiddie strikers . . . vela is sold, bendtner has burnt every bridges from here to denmark, afobe isn't ready and is on loan and campbell doesn't have his papers yet and is on loan. so, as somebody mentioned, nobody quite on the horizon.

miyaichi, as you mentioned, is on loan, gnabry has gotten a crap ton of love and is a possible carling cup kid, have heard nothing about the two barcelona kids since they've been here, aneke is rated by wenger but, based on preseason, isn't remotely ready and really should be on loan, no idea what's happened to/with lansbury and why he's getting no love, i thought eisfeld looked decent in preseason and he'll probably be another carling cup kid who'll get a shot later.

Lansbury may not be able to cut it at the Gunners. That is too bad because he showed some promise. I don't think he even received a jersey this year

I have high hopes for Campbell and Miyaichi.

We'll see what they can do this year.

Well we can finally put to bed the thought that when a Barca player talks about a fellow pro at another team they arent just admiring him or answering a direct question from a journo, its all set up.

Its pure propaganda and a number of you actually defended them and fell for the bull shite again...bravo

Scally, not sure I am following you but I guess you are talking about the Song saga, right?
if that is case, it is clear that that was orchestrated/ encouraged by Song agent & handlers.
These stuff don't happen in a vacuum.

Since no one has mentioned his name in a page or two...I'll just say it...Clint Dempsey.

I'm not even one of the Dempsey fanboys, but he's...

a.) A proven goal scorer in the Prem.
    b.) Available.
c.) Would actually be excited about playing for us.
d.) Can score in a variety of ways and combine with Cazorla.

After watching the team today, I think he's certainly good enough to crack a wing/forward rotation that includes Walcott, Gervinho, and Arshavin. Surely Arsene will at least ponder the possibility.

that would be too bad. i liked what (little) i have seen of him. i wonder if he's just crap/not good enough or if he pissed somebody (namely wenger) off.

i think he's at that age (21) where wenger tends to cut bait and let kids go somewhere else and play (like he did with larsson and others) so i guess we'll see this season.
