Dude, I really don't get you. Song was a distraction with his bad attitude and Arsene decided he had enough. What do you expect the coach to do? Let a prima donna become a cancer in the club?
Canal+ reporting #AFC are negotiating for Fernando Llorente and that Nuri Sahin loan deal should be done by Monday. Spanish sources are reporting that Sahin is a done deal as well.
lol @Llorente.. almost a zero chance of that happening. Selling Song has us operating with a profit this summer. The Arsenal way. Ambitious team's actually use a "war chest" or put aside operating cash to, improve the team. not just change the pieces on a budget.
Two separate issues. If he wants him gone, fine. It sounds like he needed selling, he was being a twat. This doesn't mean that suddenly we get fcuk all for one of our most important players. He has much more value than 15 mil, especially because he was on three years. We screwed the pooch on this deal
I was never been the biggest Alex Song fan, so I'm not sad to see the back of him. He was a good player, but there are many good players who play that position. His departure will only harm the team if we let it harm the team.
Yeah, you're right, this has been going on for over a week now. Enough is enough. Time for Wenger to put his foot down and say, hey, if you are offered a better deal elsewhere, you can walk out the door for a knock down price. That will surely keep the buzzards from circling. Get a clue. We just sold off our two outfield players that started the most games last season. We're waiting on Mourinho to give us a player on loan? Sorry buddy, but that is small club shit. If i was a season ticket holder i would be livid. Shit, i'm livid anyway.
I'm not happy about it, either, but let's wait until the end of the transfer window before we go crazy. Even if Sahin's deal is a loan, that doesn't mean it can't eventually be something more, especially if he and Cazorla can help the other players develop some chemistry and bring us a trophy.
You need to get a clue with your fake outrage......Yeah, keep spinning stuff. You may be able to convince yourself that what you wrote are facts. So, 20 M for a barely above average DM is a knock down price? Give me a break, anti.
So the 15 million Barca claimed is now 20? Fact? Song is barely above average, and wanted by Barcelona? Fact? Go read your twitter feed, i'm sure you'll find someone else who thinks selling your most reliable midfielder on the first day of the season is a great idea. After all, as Wenger says, we can now depend on Wilshere, Diaby and Rosicky to pick up the slack.
If Sahin comes on loan and is successful, he either goes back to Madrid, or prices himself out of what Arsenal will pay. I can't understand taking him on loan without an option to buy, unless you just see him as a one season stopgap. I'd prefer to actually buy a quality replacement, so we can start developing a team instead of panicking every summer, and waiting for the entire squad to "settle in".
Yeah everything is just peachy. Glad the team is getting rid of a key player who didn't have anyone to push him and there is a replacement already in place....oh wait.
Thing is, it doesn't really matter how good Sahin is. It takes players months and years to get to know each other and play to the best of their ability. I don't know why people assume this has changed. High turnover teams never achieve to their potential. The whole is always less than the sum of its parts. The lack of turnover used to be one of our strengths.
So Barca wants a player...suddenly he is not above average but rather world class>? Whatever. Most reliable midfielder? I guess we were not watching the same games, since Arteta was by far the best AFC midfielder last season.
I don't disagree, but even if they aren't playing to the best of their ability, if it's good enough for hardware, that's a step in the right direction.
Of course, slightly above average players are always highly desired at the worlds top clubs. What midfielder had the most starts last season? How about over the past two seasons?
So when the same thing happens next year with Vermaelen, or Koscielny, we'll look back and just say that they were pu$sies, too? It's not the individual sales of Song or van Persie that bother me. They have a bad attitude, they want out, we get rid of them. What bothers me is the pattern of selling players who ask out -- and giving them their way. Hleb, van Persie, Song, Fabregas, Adebayor, Nasri, and to an extent, Toure and Clichy. I like that we're bringing in replacements but even if you bring in someone of equal quality, you lose ground while the team has to regroup and learn how to play together. What the hell is a the point of a contract if it only works one way to bind us to $hitty players like Arshavin, Denilson, and Bendtner?
If you want to believe that Song is a top class player, you are entitled to your opinion. Be my guest. so reliable = most starts? Really?
he wasnt the solution either and had no interest in being that. well my feelings on Vermaelen are well known. I would rather Robin have stayed and Song and we added on, but if players are being disruptive then they dont need to be at this club. lets say we ask them to go to 20 million, and Barcelona scoffs at the price and moves on. Then what do we do? We have a player who has been a problem and doesnt want to be here. It could even be worse.
