Hope it's less of a rugby match than the last time.

This will definitely be an interesting thing to watch because Sesselman got torched all game last time by Rapinoe. It will be interesting to see how Canada decides to deal with Rapinoe because she had way too much time and space in that game in June. With Sesselman moving to the center and Nault playing LB, she will definitely need help.

Regarding yellow cards for the next game:

USA picked up two yellow cards in the game – one to Abby Wambach and one to Carli Lloyd – but as yellow cards are wiped away after the quarterfinals, the USA will have no danger of suspensions for the rest of the tournament. Cheney came into the match with a yellow card, but as she did not receive one vs. New Zealand, she is also free and clear for the semifinal.

USWNT released that she has a "charley horse". Worst case scenario she is done for the Olympics, best case she will be good to go on Monday. Even if she is out LeRoux appears to be in form so we will be OK at forward I think either way. We will probably get some more info tomorrow but I am not too concerned.

There was a clear foul but no foal on the play that injured her.

hahaha!!!!!! yeah, the moment that it happened, i immediately thought it was a foul. I don't know why there was a debate, but some have pointed out that he injured head helped to overlook the foul. i guess.

i didn't watch the game, so when did baby horse  get hurt? i did see a highlight when she almost broke the guardian's jaw with that wreck-less, all-over-the-place running style of her's. she's developing nicely into another smash mouth forward like abby wambach.

Please temper any expectations that past games against Canada mean anything with respect to this game. Canada is playing very well this tournament. They came back from 2 goals down vs Sweden. Sinclair is amazing. Scott is having a really great tournament in the middle. Tank has gotten goals. They've passed really well. And the list goes on. If anything, they will be more "up" for this game than we are. Beware.

I've said a thousand times what I think about Sweden and their Luck Ball game, and am glad France put an end to this after they, once again, came up with odd shoulder ball goal, which rivaled the hip ball that best the USA in the WC. I have never been impressed with the current Sweden squad. Maybe they were something special years ago with Norway's women when they ruled the soccer world, but that is before my time.

The US team has taken a lot of stick over the past two years for not really thumping Canada on occasion. Maybe this puts some of those results in perspective?

Playing a hot team with several dangerous goal scorers and really nothing to lose ought to concern anybody. I'm sure the US camp is taking them seriously . . . but it will be a challenging match. Probably more of a challenge than France will be for Japan.

At least Pato Gato was there to provide commentary. It's amazing how these boards can help someone improve their English writing tremendously in a matter of hours! ;)

Word. By the way, sorry to disappoint you "newsouth"(lol) but our resident offensive terror Alex Morgan appears to be good to go as per twitter. Sorry to disappoint you. Maybe that NZ goalkeeper should not have tried to do her dirty and impede a clear goal scoring opportunity. Hope she can remember how to get home...

Canada seems to have a different attitude, and belief in themselves, they didn't have when we thumped them 4-0 in front of their home crowd, something like 24,000 there. That had to sting.

Agree Sweden is not the best, but for a team whose history is to fold up to come back from two down in the Olys is a fair accomplishment. I think they're a different team. I don't think it 's going to be a laugher. We win, but it's a slugfest, and not very appealing soccer.

Straight A's in Eng I, II, III, Creative and Technical Writing at a major USA university, but that doesn't matter in the fantasy world of online message boards. You must be kidding yourself. I don't even bother to proof my posts, as someone once said to me. Next?

Would you like to see the research report I wrote on Hamming Sequence Spacing and Population Dynamics?

Despite the scoreline in some games, in general, Canada games are almost never pretty since the two teams know each other so well.

Should be a great match. I see Rampone and Cheney as being the most important players for the US in this match (we know Abby and A-Morg will be dangerous and create havoc on Canada). Rampone and Cheney need to have a good match. And let's hope Cheney actually remembers to tie the strings on the front of her shorts this time. That way this particular moment doesn't happen again, like in the North Korea match (which has now been blogged and reblogged 386,471 times according to the official counter on Twitter, plus the 100,000+ times by now on Tumblr) ..........
