I would like to see Cazares called up, Unfortunately I remember reading an interview where Rueda said he will only call 18 players for this friendly match against Chile which leaves very little room for fresh faces in the NT, then again, with Valencia in the middle of pre-season, Caicedo and Noboa just started their season, Joao Rojas' injury and Copa Sudamericana going on, Rueda might be forced to call new players. if all these things I mentioned complicate Rueda in the call ups we might see something like this..IMO

    ---------------------------------Dominguez--------------------------------
    Madrid--------------Guagua----------------Morantes------------Ayovi---
    Ibarra---------------Mendez----------------Castillo-------------Montero
    --------------------------------------------Walter Chala--------------------
    -----------------------------Benitez--------------------------------------
    Bench;
    Calderon
    Araujo
    Hidalgo
    Samaniego
    Fidel Martinez
    Suarez
    Cazarez
    Batioja
    Cano.

I cant think of anyone else, wow pretty crappy huh ? hopefully this wont be the case.

Morante is no where near getting a call up bro. I wish he did because it could boost his self esteem and confidence but under Rueda's insane and questionable standards, he isn't any where close to coming back. He already said hell no again to Felipe Caicedo too lol. I'll just leave it at that.

And Guagua, Walter Chala, Batioja, and Araujo- NO THANKS! not NT material. Some who aren't even doing enough at club team level.

I know about Morante and his recent lack of quality, but I think that perhaps Rueda will consider him for the same reasons you posted, to boost him up a little, give him a push you know?
Guagua, never liked him, but Rueda has made it clear that he does so I expect him to get called yet again specially considering that Erazo, Campos, Achilier might not be available.
Walter Chala? Dude, he h=isnt having a bad year, I think that him and Cano have been carrying all of D. Cuenca and remember Rueda did mention him as a possible replacement for Chucho against Bolivia.
Batioja? I know, a little far fetched but he has been a consistent starter and scored on a few ocassions, besides he's lefty, I mean why not?
Araujo? can you honestly think of someone else if players from BSC, Emelec, D Quito are not available?

Morante- Rueda does not care about giving anyone a boost of confidence. lol that's the last thing he thinks about. Felipe Caicedo and Guerron literally killed it in their teams, yet there's no "boost" for them (not that they even need it) when they were going through hard times. Rueda will call up whoever is doing well in mexico and his favorites such as Saritama, Diego Calderon, Alex Bolanos, Oswaldo Minda. I BET YOU he calls Minda up and the guy hasn't even played lately. Miller Bolanos has been starting and playing 90 games right now and I BET he WILL NOT recieve a call up. I know this! Freakin Fernando Gaibor was one of the best center mids since the second half of last year all the way til the end of the Primera Etapa and he didn't recieve a call up EVER.

Walter Chala- he's not a starter in Cuenca. He gets subbed in and doesn't score much. At most he has 2 maybe 3 goals (and im exaggerating) since he's been back. Byron Cano is another story- that's the type of player that stands out right now. Striker with a powerful long shot that scores amazing goals, some nice freekicks, and he's fast. Bringing in someone like that to the NT would be good. Rueda is an idiot saying Chala can be a part of the NT. That kid's doing less than Marlon De Jesus, who lately has picked up and is improving. I'll even accept Marlon De Jesus, but Chala? nah I'll pass at least for now.

last night in the game Emelec had against San Martin, the commentators on Fox Sports mentioned that the possible "surprise call up" in Reinaldo's list is going to be Roosevelt Oyola. Looks like most of us on this forum are on point when identifying who's deserving of a call up.

How do you feel about Franklin Salas? I really like the way he's been playing alongside Fabio Renato, notice how he's become such a good assist-man?

I like Franklin as a Liguista and i agree he is doing well in Loja coming off the bench. But even when he was playing 90 minutes every game in Imbabura in the first half of last year, he still failed to make an impact in the NT when he did get the call up from Rueda. He's not the Salas from 02-05 that had potential to be one of the best players in the country (which at one moment, i think he was). The injuries did it for him. He doesn't have that speed or surprise factor to his futbol anymore. What he still does have is great vision and great technique. One of the most gifted players i saw growing up but i feel like he's not physically ready to play in the NT anymore throughout his career.

    Chile no contará con C.Bravo, O.González, P.Contreras, M.Díaz, A.Vidal, M.Fernández, M.Campos T., A."Jr." Fernándes ni con los 4 castigados (G.Jara, C.Carmona, J.Valdivia y J.Beausejour).
Los únicos titulares que estarán presentes este miércoles contra Ecuador serán J.Rojas, G.Medel, E.Mena, C.Aránguiz, A.Sánchez y H.Suazo.

are Gonzalo Jara, Carmona, Valdivia, and Beausejour ever going to return to Chile's NT? It's been a while already since they've been suspended and it seems like you guys haven't even needed them with Mena, Araguiz, Diaz, Vargas, and lots of U. de Chile players taking over their positions.

Our coach, el Bichi Borghi has announced that the players are completing there "castigo" with this match. Then they may arrange and contact our federation to see if they would like to return or not. The two most probable players to return are Jean Beausejour (Wigan, England) and Carlos Carmona (Atalanta, Italia). As for Jorge Valdivia (Palmeiras, Brasil) and Gonzalo Jara (West Bromwich, England). These players are going to have the most difficulty to return especially Valdivia. Valdivia and Borghi seem to have lost there coach to player relationship since this problem occured. As for G. Jara he has a chance to return but needs to work a lot in his club team. He has not been playing well at all and he was part of this issue so it's probable he won't return and don't need him. But I feel we could always use any player just in case of a injury so I hope he returns and everyone else does in one peace.

Defense seems okay with what he called up, I would like to see Quinones instead of Saritama, and Mina in place of Yoya to see if he can replicate his performance at NT level against a quality opponent.

From the suspended players the only ones we would be missing are Valdivia and Beausejour.

Carmona has been replaced by Diaz and Jara by any of the Universidad de Chile defenders...Rojas, Osvaldo Gonzalez or former La U player Marcos Gonzalez. We have improved for the better in those two spots.

As for Beausejour, we have no one better than him on that left wingback position, but Mena is coping decently (Beausejour is still better). I want him back in the team as soon as possible.

...and finally Valdivia... what more do I need to say about him, guy has an ego, but he is something different we can bring from the bench. Defenders always struggle against him and even in his worst matches he can create two goalscoring situations out of nothing. He also creates a lot of freekick situations for us as it is hard to take the ball from him without a foul. He is irreplaceable, but sadly I think we have seen the last of him with Chile. The Borghi/Valdivia relationship is damaged.

Aranguiz and Matias are good, but neither can produce danger out of nothing like Valdivia can.

which Quinonez? Mj Quinonez? No offense to any barcelonistas who I know are huge fans of Mina, but do you really think a 29 year old is ready to JUST begin his international career with the NT? I think not. I'll pass on him. Where the hell is Felipe Caicedo is the question that the ecua media needs to stick in Rueda's face until he gives in and calls him up.

I agree. You don't run into players like Valdivia in every NT. I wish we had one of those creative type players in our midfield that can be brain of the team. I also forogt- whatever happened to Mauricio Isla?

I meant Dennis, kid has been solid and has a decent amount of international experience at youth level. As for Mina, I agree that Caicedo should be part of the squad but he's not so we're gonna have to get by with what we have. Its a friendly so there's a window to experiment. My ideal duo is Benitez and Yoya but Ayovi is just coming off an ankle injury and hasn't played much so the smart thing to do might be is to be cautious. The only other forward on the list is Anangono and he's hardly been one of the top forwards in Ecuador this season.

I seen some of the Ecuadorian players in 5th ave today (NYC) not too familiar with your players besides Valencia and Benitez so can't really tell you who they where

EDIT: After doing some research I'm pretty sure one of them was Walter Ayovi

    Half time score:
    Ecuador 2 Chile 0
Mina, J Ayovi * Valencia assisted on both goals....

Defense playing well as is Dominguez... Ecuador is controlling the game so far.

hope they play like this in the 2nd half.

W-O-W! I haven't seen Ecuador play at that speed since Vizuete's era. Brought back memories. but being able to finish our plays was just icing on the cake. I have no negative comment towards a single player, every single one of them (even saritama to some extent) played an awesome first half. Valencia was killin it the first 20-25 minutes, but the entire 45 minutes Montero was RIPPING that Chilean defense in half. He just needs to freakin learn to be decisive at the right moment!!! We could have had AT LEAST one other goal.

ps. Where are the YOYA HATERS?? LOL That's a NT player no matter what. He performs at 150% when he puts that jersey on.
