Good player. Hopefully he still has something left in the tank for the league.

Forward was clearly a glaring need.

I know. Being a smart ass. I would say he's best as "attacking mid" behind a striker.

Clearly, the Aussie fans will pack RBA and stadia around the league.

Regardless of his marketing appeal, this should be a very good signing by MLS/NY.

This makes 2 Everton Legends now playing in MLS, correct?

I simply like that he did not move to the A-League....

He was terrific for years, but does he still have mojo? Surprised since I thought a better 'missing' piece to fill would be a strong playmaker to allow Henry to move further forward. I guess Henry will be more of a playmaker now. Cahill is more like Dempsey, storming in the box and all.

On set pieces, teams should have their hands full defending Cahill, Cooper, occasionally Henry,
    Holgesson, etc.

Love it! MLS is trembling in fear with the super team we are assembling. We don't even need Marquez as well!

I wonder how long the contract is for? 1/2 season, 1 1/2, or...

You could always get rid of him and sign, you know, an actual DP, one that still has talent and can stay not suspended or injured for more than 3 games. Now THAT would be a super team.

He's one of those players that should have played higher up the EPL, he probably could have done a decent job for a top 4 team in his prime. If he can capture some of that form, he should do well in MLS but it's whether he can or not.

Similar signing to Keane IMO. Undoubtedly can be class, just needs to find the form that made them that way. And I think Keane has been worth every penny, so we'll see.

No. lol. First of all why would we take out Dax who's been great for us at DM? He's playing as a destroyer in the midfield is extremely crucial to our success. Marquez will leave the backline extremely vulnerable. And we all love Lade but I don't think he's ready to start over Lindpere just yet but he would make a GREAT sub.

    --------Henry---Cooper
    -------------Cahill
    Lindpere----------Le Toux
    -------------Dax
    Pearce--Conde--Hulk--Barklage
    -------------Meara

That would be the ideal lineup when everyone is healthy. Although we should expect a player like Solli to get a spot start at RM

Yeah there's no way Dax should be benched. Move Marquez to the back line.

Any formation with Marquez on it is the wrong formation.

But also Backe has said that he's willing to try a 4-3-3 and he would like all of the midfielders to be box-box type of midfielders.
