I will point out one thing about the whole center attack bit - I think we really missed Peterson Joseph this game on account of that goal he setup at Columbus. Not to mention that we really could've used a bit more creativity in the midfield when Convey came off.

You really believe they were cramping? They were dropping like flies and the ref should have carded someone before it became absurd. It was like what we used to do to our substitute teachers in junior high.

My bigger complaint than not carding them is that he allowed them to "get treatment" without the trainer and stay in the game. You can't have a full minute stoppage for a player and not call the trainer and get them off the field.

Our guys were cramping too, we just played through it.

wasn't there over 9 minutes of stoppage time? new england could've wasted another 30 minutes and it wouldn't have mattered. we were never going to score tonight.

    not good enough.

You're right, Peterson's header which forced that great save by Reis WAS pretty poor, wasn't it?

 nice twist on what i said. this isn't horseshoes. it was a good header, but it didn't go in, did it? so it doesn't count for jack. like buzz said, it's been 325 minutes since we put one in at home. do you think that's good enough?

One really good chance over a 90 minute span AT HOME against a team in 8th place in the East is not good enough.

The problem is that teams are starting to figure us out. Were going to keep getting "BAD" results until Peter starts changing a few things. Its only a matter of when.

I think Kamara's going to hear from the DisCo for that elbow on Reis...

Last three home results: Loss-Draw-Draw. Zero goals.
Really not much else to say about it. We got it done against Real Salt Lake, LA, and San Jose earlier in the season, now we can't even get points off of New England at home. Got to find a way to score.

Oh yeah, I also can't believe that Vermes favors Nags over Cesar right now. That was awful.

Do you suppose it has anything to do with the Western teams apparent preference to play for wins rather than bunker in? I said when the schedule came out that playing all these Eastern teams was going to suck, but I was assured here that it would not make any difference. I'd still rather see us play anyone from the West, even Chivas, than these defensive sides like Cbus, NE, Chicago, Houston or Philly. Maybe if the next expansion brings in NY Cosmo's we can escape to the West.

It shouldn't, good teams find ways to break down bunkering teams.

Houston will move back West before us.

I agree, and note that Cesar, even at DM, is a player who can provide service through the middle (at the very least, much moreso than Nagamura and Thomas).

NE may not be top of the League, but they are the undisputed King of Cramps. Its almost like theyve never heard of water....

You said we were never going to score. My point is we did have opportunities and this was hardly the Montreal or even Houston game (and even that one we hit the post).
I've already been over why we're always going to struggle to make chances at LSP compared to away from home. When you have 10 players playing defense, even when they have the ball, for 80 minutes and wasting time at every possible moment... it's going to be difficult.

MLS doesn't have that much a difference between the top to bottom, but you'll see teams in leagues with much higher disparity have the same trouble when teams decide that a draw is acceptable.

Do I like these results? No. Do things need to change? Yes, but not drastically. Do these results indicate we are crap? In an ironic way, the fact that teams come to LSP and aren't even interested in attacking past 15 or 20 minutes should be a compliment of sorts.

Whatever... go ahead and think/feel whatever you like. We're crap, we are never going to score ever, etc. You're right, we should just give up now.

in the second half, I saw a replay when walking back to the stands. Feilhaber went down inside the box with CJ on his back. It looked like a terrible flop by an artist. CJ seemed to disagree, but Benny got the foul called. Did that occur when we were on the attack?

Overreact to my comment much? The point I were making was that we never really looked likely to score last night. I said around half time that this game had 0-0 written all over it because we looked inept going forward last night and the Revs were very organized defensively.

If teams are going to come in here and bunker than KC needs to learn how to break down a bunker, and quickly.

But go ahead assume I think we'll never score again.

This talk about visiting teams bunkering isnt exactly the game I saw last night. The first 25-30 minutes of the match, we were on our heels and NE were taking it to us. If a team was going to score early, it was NE, not us. After the first half hour, it was a different story.

Oh, man. I knew we hadn't scored for a while, but didn't realize it was _that_ bad. I recall weeping openly when we broke that goal drought back in '99. I can still remember how the air smelled that day.

I sort of disagree just based on the lineup New England put out there. They came out in almost a 4-6-0 and didn't sub on any true forwards/strikers until the 60th or so minutes (Cardenas and Sene) then Brettschnieder in the 80th or so. They were always looking to clog the midfield, force us wide, get us winded, and then put on their guns to run at some tired legs. In that sense, I think we got out coached.

PV putting on Saad instead of Teal irked me, as did Paolo instead of Cesar. We played really well and I thought Convey looked great. The way he and Kei switch, play off each other, and overload one side of the other seems like it really confuses defenses, and I hope it can pay off soon, because as was mentioned above, our offense has gotten really predictable.

Also I thought Harrington had a really good game. Maybe not Chance Myers good, but he filled in really well.

After watching them slam down enormous quantities of booze prior to the game, I can't say I'm surprised.

Is the primary reason for our lack of scoring during the run of play due to a lack of ability, regardless of what strategy Vermes applies? So, when a team "parks the bus", it requires a certain skill to dribble into it to open space in the middle and we do not have such a player? Instead, we try for the overlapping passes on the wings and then try to fly one into the middle and hope for a rebound.

I don't get the reference either, but they call themselves "JPOP" (it's Just a Piece of Paper)
