    Excellent news!
Wandering where they are going to play. Hopefully somewhere in Queens with atleast 10,000 seats.

I'm interested to hear the take of some of you supporters who have been working a long time toward the Cosmos coming to MLS. Did any of you hear anything about this before today? Is the group putting this team in the NASL one of the ones discussed as possible MLS owners? Is this stage one of a plan to ultimately move the Cosmos up to MLS when that stadium in Corona Park is ready? Will all of you be supporting this team?

As an original Strikers fan as a kid, the official return of the Rowdies this year was very nice. Having the Cosmos join the party next year is an incredible coup for the NASL. Not just for those of us who rememeber the old days, but also because I think you couldn't ask for a better advertising campaign for your league than to have a team with the most iconic name in the history of American soccer join. It's a good time to be a fan of an NASL team today, and I don't just mean in NY.

I'll wait for some details to come out before getting overly worked up by this. Just like they were supposed to play in the PDL this season.

There are not many venues that fit that criteria in Queens dude - ST Johns is smaller - Citi Field probably not with NASL and not MLS

Im excited but still have some questions

I can see Hofstra as a possibility but most fans will not be able to get out there.

NON BELIEVERS THE WHOLE LOT OF YOUS!!!!

THEY WILL HAVE A STADIUM ANNOUNCEMENT AND TICKET INFO IN ABOUT 30 TO 60 DAYS.....

I am happy and hope this works out... how and if Cosmos NASL will become Cosmos MLS is another story or if Cosmos NASL paves the way for NY2 Expansion with another name and identity remains to be seen....

I know this aint going to be a super star stacked team and i expect a level of play below that of MLS so i go in with no expectations other than going and hanging out and having a good time with the boro boys... much like the movie john rambo I went to see that with the lowest expectations and rather enojoyed the movie......The important thing is that there is a alternative to the energy drink to feed my fix and keep my vocal cords in shape for when I go to uruguay to see Nacional..

All the best to the Cosmos NASL and the BB and its time to enjoy this we deserve it after such a long wait....

On a side note its a sure thing a NASL cosmos will live with local talent and pretty much do things like every one else in the NASL how that hurts the brand based on results is also another story...who cares the time has come for all those that begged, yelled, cried, wanted, desired, sold their souls to the devil, preyed to god, and went as far as performing voodoo, to get a team to support in NY to PUT UP OR SHUT UP AND GO TO THE GAMES AND SUPPORT THE TEAM WIN OR LOSE REGARDLESS IF THEY SIGN MESSI WHICH THEY WONT OR SIGN A JAMAICAN FROM BROOKLYN WHO HAPPENED TO BE SOME DISH WASHER B4 HE SIGNED WITH THE COSMOS, WHICH IS A VERY REAL PROBABILITY .....

and if you use the excuse that its NASL not MLS and they signed a bunch of nobodies as the reason not to go to games.......................then simply you dont exist and was a complaining poser all this time...

What does this say about MLS? Could this mean prep for MLS? Or could this mean MLS decided not to go with NYCosmos, and thus why they secured cityfc.com

I agree. I see no need to get excited if they don't actually play in NYC. I'd rather see them play in an overcrowded St Johns than out at Hofstra or Mitchell.

After the fiasco with that.. I have higher standards now... That being said. I'll mostly likely be at nearly all the home games, even if it's out on the Island.

It's a minor league team. It doesn't need to be over 4-5K.

Got to Kenn's site and take a look at the latest attendance numbers for some of the "bigger" lower division teams and then rethink your statement.

They might have to use Citi field for the first game. I can see the first game pulling in 35,000.
LI makes does make sense as a temp venue before they come to Flushing.

IF Flushing is their end game - sure - why not - hit the fan base out there and then move to Queens - but is their plan MLS - still lots of questions
