I'm now watching U20 Japan vs US, 0-0 at halftime, though it is a poor visual.

    GK: Ikeda
    DF: Nakamura, Muramatsu, Kinoshita, Hamada
MF: Naomoto, Tanaka Yoko, Tanaka Mina, Nakada
    FW: Yokoyama, Michigami

On the whole, Japan overwhelms the US especially in the midfields.
The two FWs may be a little bit insufficient about their movements at receiving passes.

And sorry AndG, Nakamura Yushika is quite good as a right side DF.
I really enjoy seeing the aggressive Tanaka Yoko's middle shoots.

Is there any kind of live streaming on internet? o_O

Poor Wada Wada... no chance that she plays in second half?

Is Ikeda second GK in Urawa? Was she the same GK that I saw in Trinidad & Tobago's U-17 team, in the video of the penalty-shootout that was posted some days ago? Or was it a different GK in that tournament?

Well, there are other people with no faces in the WWC final, including Sameshima who was holding Sawa's hand during penalty shootout...

Instead, Wambach and Morgan are very similar to their real life counterparts, wow!

And Sasaki always looks 20 years younger, lol... :ROFLMAO:

What's been said about Sawa/Kawasumi relationship, apart being based on nail-painting?

There are other parts going to be published, or the manga novel ends here? I ask also because, at this pace, the story will catch up with reality very soon and they'll need to paint the events in the making, like telling about the Olympics while the match are played... :D

    Japan 1-0 US
Tanaka Yoko scored pushing in the rebound of Nishikawa's shoot.
It was obviously off-side, but I don't complain at all.:D

Wada appeared at about 70 minute, and was not so bad.

Naomoto blocked the US's offense everywhere in dangerous situations as if she were Sawa.

Ikeda is the second GK in Urawa now, and did several superb savings today.

Japan, overall, dominated the game but they created less decisive chances than the US.
This team might need to improve the vital area tactics.

By the way, there will be a live feed on 20th match on JFA live TV.

Great, little Nadeshiko! Let's hope that the dominance over US keeps going on at the Volvo Winners Cup and, especially, at Olympics... :D

Menwhile Vegalta Sendai Ladies won again, away from home (vs Nittaidai, if I am not wrong), 0-2 with goals by Hitomi Ono and Yuki Sakai.

Sasaki looks like all the adults characters of anime-manga... 29 years old :D.

Well, it seems that this was the last chapter :(.

The prediction of the starting 11 against the USA from a reporter in Sweden who's watching a training game - usually starters vs subs on a day before match-day.

    4-4-2
    GK Fukumoto
    DF Kinga, Yano, Ustugi, Sameshima
    MF Ohno, Sakaguchi, Sawa, Miyama
    FW Kawasumi, Nagasato

I am disappointed too, but obviously Sasaki needs to test both Yano and Utsugi to see who's the best replacement in the case Iwashimizu doesn't make it (we obvioulsy all hope that Iwashi recovers soon from her ankle's sprain, but Sasaki needs to extensively test subs, to be ready for any circumstance...)

Sigh. Makes sense, because other events were too much recent, but i am sad that it was the last chapter anyway. :(

Maybe, if they win gold medal at Olympics, there will be another 5-parter novel next year!
(including scenes from everyday's life at Kawasumi's house, with Ji So-Yun and Asuna Tanaka ^__^)

There is a rumor about a Sameshima Manga to be released in July, too....

Yes, thank you Wavester :) For this and all the other vids.

I will probably look at Wavester;s files, but here are 2 minutes of highlights. Its not clear from the one angle that it was offside? By the way this Nishikawa can shoot, but who does she play for? Good to read about Naomoto, this was her job at AnClas. But - no Shibata, no Fujita?

Also very nice documentary about the Nagasato sisters here. Does it focus on Asano's slim London chances? As usual, translations are appreciated:) Beautifully made. Yuki has turned dedication into improvement.

Neither Shibata nor Fujita got a minute, according to JFA here. Also Nakata was pulled at HT to make way for that tiny Nakazato. Surprising how Yoshida disagrees with the L-league coaches on who gets to play. YT (moukoko) has longer highlights now here - it looks like they lived dangerously at times! Great off-the line by captain Kinoshita (NTV) I think? Yokayama looks like she has given a million interviews, played 90 minutes, and seems to have had a good day. Any theories why Belle's coach has played her less than 180 minutes in 9 games?
I assume in the 2nd game, the team will be somewhat different. Unfortunately I also see on JFA that Tikage got injured and had to withdraw a few days ago.

She replaced Tanaka (Mina) in the 2nd half... She came in game as the same time as Wada (who replaced Nakamura).

This is a prediction after all so it may be slightly different - although it's usually right as Kawasumi starting replacing Nagasato in the semi in the WWC.

I wouldn't be surprised with line up as they've got two games in three days on top of testing players. Sasaki said he would every player will have playing time in these two matches.

I've just finished watching U20 match against the USA.

There is not much surprise why these girls have been struggling to get playing time in the L. League. They are all technically sound, but most of them are not up to the standard yet even compared to the non-NT players.

Actually most disappointing player was Nakada. I really don't want to say this but I thought she was awful. Not just she didn't have much to show for going forward, but the lack of discipline or maybe lack of awareness was almost criminal. Hamada makes a run and overlaps, but she chose not to pass - that's ok. But she loses the ball with a sloppy pass, but she doesn't think she has to cover the void made by Hamada's run. Hamada is shouting Nakada to fill the space, but when Nakada realizes it's too late and the USA had a great opportunity. She really looked like she was playing in a high school team there.

On the other hand, I thought Yoko Tanaka and Yokoyama was very good. It was very good to see those two still shine in U20 category. Yokoyama still can take on defenders on this level and Tanaka still making those runs from midfield. Naomoto too looked very good without any flushing moments (probably a lot to do with her role) - she did go forwards occasionally but her role seemed be more Sakaguchi's role while Tanaka going more forwards.

The most disappointing thing was the lack of creativity in the final third. They controlled the game and had lots of possession but usually ended up speculative middle/long distance shots that didn't really trouble GK. Well it did actually pay off for the goal in the end . Still with these technical players and the possession, they surely have to do better than just shooting on sight like they used to do in U17 days...

I just finished watching the full U-20 Japan vs USA match. It was quite entertaining.
In some moments of the game, the neverending web of Nadeshiko passing game totally pushed US girls out of the game (especially in first half, when there were times when Nadeshiko's half of the pitch was a desert with absolutely not a white jersey for entire minutes, with just Nadeshiko girls starting again action after action...), but I agree that the team should translate this superiority into more goals... Mai Kyokawa is missed!
What's wrong with Ayaka Michigami? o_O It's some rounds that she doesn't manage to score anymore in Challenge League and today I saw her a little slow...
Yokoyama seems to believe that she can always dribble at least 3-4 players  (and we know sometimes it's the case, just not always! :giggle:).

I liked captain Kinoshita a lot, and not only for that save off-the-line. A solid performance overall from her (obviously Iwashimizu's school counts :D) . Also Haruka Hamada played very well in my opinion, as well as INAC girls Nakada (I am not sure i would have took her out at half time) and Yoko Tanaka (the way she shoots, and I am not talking just the goal, it's really technically perfect: it seems to come from a football handbook, the torsion of her torso while she stretch her leg to shoot is pure art :inlove:).

Wada played some precious minutes, where she looked more solid than in Urawa. I Can't find Nishikawa in my Nadeshiko League rosters: is she from a Challenge League club? o_O

And how much short exactly is micro-player Yu Nakasato? :giggle: When she entered the pitch in second half, for a moment she seemed like a child coming in an adult game...

Usa's reaction after the goal was predictable, but anyway I guess Japan took more risks than it should in the last ten minutes.

Oh, by the way, I was impressed by US #4 (don't know her name): an excellent right winger, in my opinion, I liked quite every action from her.
