That's fair. I wonder what kind of team that DCFC would bring in for a friendly. Doesn't seem like there are many options unless it's the U-23 team of a MLS team or something.

Aren't there some ethnic amateur clubs in the area? Carpathia Kickers and Club Italia are names that are stuck in my head; not sure if they still exist or have adult teams any more, but they used to.

Is anyone thinking of heading to away matches? I'm probably going to head to the Binghamton match on May 20th. Also, it looks like the Bucks and DCFC would also play at home on July 7th (DCFC with a 1pm friendly, the Bucks at 7:30 against Cincinnati).

If you do that, then you might want to make it a full weekender, since DetCity will also be there on the 19th (if you don't mind missing the Bucks home game on the 19th).

    Another idea: Cleveland via Amtrak.

DCU match on the 19th is the only reason why I'm not making it a weekend trip. It's about 5.5 hours for me from DC to get to Binghamton, which is doable.

Trying to make a Cleveland away, but not sure if I'll be able to swing it on 6/8 with my USMNT binge the week before (going to Jacksonville for Scotland, back here in DC for Brazil and then to Toronto for Canada).

Potential Doubleheaders: you are literally across the expressway:

    Saturday, June 2, 2012
1PM; Greater Binghamton FC at Detroit City FC
7:15p; New York Yankees at Detroit Tigers

    Saturday, June 16, 2012
7PM; FC Buffalo at Detroit City FC
4:05p; Colorado Rockies at Detroit Tigers

    Saturday, July 7, 2012
1PM; Friendly TBA (Detroit City FC)
4:05p; Kansas City Royals at Detroit Tigers

    Wednesday, July 18, 2012
7PM; Friendly TBA (Detroit City FC)
7:05p; Los Angeles Angels at Detroit Tigers

OK, so maybe the last one is two games starting at the same time. For the others, you could attend both games, barring anything like weather delays or extra-inning baseball. Maybe I'll order meself my Tigers tickets early.

If anyone wants to do a group-sales for the Tigers, let's talk about it early, also (maybe at the first DetCity match). (I would first go for July 7: an hour after the City match before the Tigers start, and it won't be an late-nighter. However, since the City match is not scheduled "for real" I would still question it.)

I wonder how parking will be on those days.

That's good to know about the July 7th friendly. If I can make it up there for that, it will be a tripleheader for me! (DCFC, Tigers, Bucks)

I like the crest, good luck to them. I wonder how far they are hoping to take the club long-term.

Two draws for the weekend, but you wouldn't know it from the NPSL site. It is WEDNESDAY NIGHT, for chrimeny's sake, and the site still isn't updated in standings ( http://www.npsl.info/stats/index_E.html ) nor schedule ( http://www.npsl.info/schedules/2012/44024025.html )

It was quite common last year, but of course we didn't have a local side, so I couldn't really complain. But now I expect the standings to be updated Monday at the latest, (I had started to gather standings and stats on Tuesday just for that reason) but this is plain outlandish.

Here is information regarding the DCFC Supporters Pre-Game Party on Saturday 05/26/12.

    https://www.facebook.com/events/299230053499741/

The Motor City Supporters and Northern Guard Supporters will be rocking out at Harry's Detroit Bar starting at 10:00 AM on Saturday.

    Harry's Detroit Bar
2482 Clifford Street Detroit, MI 48201

Harry's has a gravel parking lot across the street from the bar that you can park at for the duration of the game. At 12:30 the supporters groups will have a march to the stadium as we did for the home opener. The march is about 2 blocks so get ready to make some noise.

Expect some surprises for Saturday including a large TIFO display being worked on by the groups.

MCS does have scarves for sales as well. Just find one of the officers and they can get you hooked up. We take Credit Card.

    Thanks everyone!

I recently made some kits for a hypothetical Detroit Express team for MLS. Today, I made some new MLS kits for Detroit City FC.

If you look closely, you can see faint fleur de lys at the front of both tops. This is to give the effect of embroiderment. There's eleven of them on both, symbolizing the eleven players on the team.
I like them both. What say you? :D

Holy god, these are awesome! I think the only thing would be the "Le Rouge" you have on the inner collar would be awesome on the back collar. It would be in line with all the MLS teams having some slogan or their team name on the back collar where you have the fleur-de-lis.

    They're just beautiful man...beautiful!

Check out my MLS style Detroit Express kits with Francis' name and number on the back.

Thanks. And, because my internet service was down all day yesterday, I was able to touch up on my original pics with what you wanted.

This is the only one...I mean, threads take a week off. People don't spend 24/7 on here. Post something and people will respond in time.
