The PR v Spain game is August 15th (if I remember correctly). It is supposed to be played in the newly renovated JRL Stadium in Bayamon.
QUEEE!?!?!? carisimo!!!! For that price they'd have to guarantee that the La Liga players would be in the squad (which I highly doubt)
La Liga players will be there.. lol San Iker, Sergio Ramos, and Fernando "El Leon" Llorente are guaranteed to show up.. I think Xavi or Iniesta are too.. forgot which one and Busquets. The rest you'll probably see fringe players like, Adrian of Atletico Madrid, and someone like Thiago Alcantara of Barcelona.
Also it seem to be reported that Atletico de Madrid will play Valencia on the island in July you may be able to catch that one.
Here's a video promo for the PR-Spain match. Xavi is in the promo so I imagine he'll be here. And I just found the article that Valencia has confirmed they'll play here: http://www.elnuevodia.com/confirmanqueelvalenciajugaraenelloubriel-1259938.html But it says it's not against Atletico.
About the Atletico de Madrid and Valencia, they are trying to match this game, but its not official yet...
I have seen that Puerto Rico Soccer League is cancelled and now Liga Nacional de Fútbol de PR is the new top flight division in the country. So my question: What happened to River Plate and PR United? I knew they had some financial difficulties after their try in USL Pro. But what is their situation now? Went they bancrupcy? Or do they only field youth teams? If they stopped existing, do they have a (legal) succesor club?
Here's a nice article on Puerto Rican U-20 and Notre Dame (Ohio) College player Juan Coca... From "Akron Sports NOW": Niño Prodigio: Self-taught soccer star a true wonder
Spain squad to play Puerto Rico: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Jose Manuel Reina (Liverpool), Victor Valdes (Barcelona) Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Gerard Pique (Barcelona), Raul Albiol (Real Madrid), Alvaro Arbeloa (Real Madrid), Naxto Monreal (Malaga), Juanfran (Atletico Madrid) Sergio Busquets (Barcelona), Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid), Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), David Silva (Man City), Santi Cazorla (Arsenal), Jesus Navas (Sevilla), Pedro (Barcelona) Fernando Torres (Chelsea), Fernando Llorente (Ath. Bilbao)
Are the PR Islanders still alive ? Will they be coming back for the 2014 NASL season ? What are the rumours ?
