Even if you stay on one page, it's not as effective. You click reply on one post, you're brought down to the bottom of the page. To click the next reply, you have to scroll back up the page to find your next post, and so on. If there is a way to bring back multi-quote functionality as we had in vBulletin, that would be great.

As you know this was server intensive and we turned it on and off all the time. We are gonna leave it out for a few weeks, see where the servers settle down with this new software, and then see what kind of strain it causes.

We currently support it only on one page. We hope to have it on multiple pages in Q2.

    Re last post
How do you mean hide older threads?

OK, I feel like a XenTard right about now, but I can't seem to find where to change my signature. Did it just recently get disabled?

I used to go into a forum and it would only show recent threads with newer posts. Now I go into a forum and I see a litany of threads, with posts that were last made in March or later. How can I hide those and only show the recent threads?

Golly, I've never seen this. In the old forums the new ones were at the top and bolded and the old ones were below and not bolded. Just like here.

Ok I just logged into the old forums and what I describe above is exactly what I see. Read threads are most definitely NOT hidden. Are you talking about MY BIGSOCCER per chance?

I have to say that I've never seen this. Older threads always appeared below the newer ones. Posts with new threads were in bold, posts without were not.

Really? That's very strange because it was like that for years for me. Threads that were older than x days were hidden and only threads with recent posts were shown. Usually anything older than two days was hidden. This only happened if the threads were marked read. If they were new they'd still show up.

Is there a way you could log in with my username into the old forum and see for yourself?

are you guys still doing some thread migration? I ask because the Chileans Abroad section is missing one thread, specifically about the interest on Chileans Abroad.

I remember that. "Hide all threads older than X days". I chose to use the forum default.

As noted, 30k threads have failed to import. I dunno which 30k they are. We are working on it. Out of 1.8MM not too bad.

While I am generally not complaining about the new design and functions, I just noticed that one can't post more than 1000 characters in one post. That might not be a problem to most people but to me that is a disadvantage to the old forums, as I created threads with lengthy statistical information and now I would have to break them down in hundreds of seperate posts which "in the old days" only took 7 or 8 posts to complete.

My question: If I became a premium (paying) BigSoccer member, would I be able to

    1) use considerably more characters than 1000 per post and
    2) edit my posts any time I'd like to?

Regarding 2): with the lengthy statistical information I provide in the soccer history forum, it would be very helpful if I could edit mistakes which I find several weeks after I posted a thread. That would be a huge plus compared to the old forums.

This man's posts are legendary and he provides an archival service that gives BS admirable content. Please do whatever it takes to extend this man's posting ability.

Can we make him a mod? That would allow him to edit posts after the fact....

I don't really understand this @ feature, so I hope I'm using it correctly. This was to alert you to this post, right DK?

Gotta agree that this needs to be remedied. There were some legendary post that occurred that were definitely over 1000 characters.

That would be a nice feature, Huss. I'm sure it is possible with the UI

I gotta say, I am loving the new "Alerts" feature at the top right. Very nice to quickly see when posts of mine have been quoted and be able to jump right to them. Thumbs up.

Once My BigSoccer is fixed, everything will be pretty much perfect. ;)

Character limit shouldn't be there, will fix.
Editing time is at 15 minutes, like the old site. It's unlimited for premium members. Ping me, we can work something out.

Huss any word on the issue I was referring to? Apparently I'm not the only person that had that capability.

I disable adblock for BigSoccer pages. I think they're less intrusive than they used to be.

If enabled, you should be able to find it by mousing over or clicking your username in the upper right of the page. If not enabled, then you wait for the glitches to work themselves out, and remind the tech team every so often.
