I am calling this one. 5:30am comes too quickly. The only shot they have in this one is for me to give up on them. Goodnight.
Cruz is a lot of hustle but not enough soccer. His hustle will work against the average MLS team, but against a team that closes down space and plays one touch soccer he's lost. This game was screaming out for Najar. I'm also concerned with Kitchen at CB. Every time he's played there for DC we get ripped apart. When Russell plays there it's not quite as bad ... if nothing else because of that veteran experience. Olsen screwed the pooch on both those moves.
SJ is swarming in DC's area and DC is making the initial block but every second ball is falling to SJ. On the other end of the field, it's just the opposite. SJ is stepping up at just the right moment to break the attack. But for what should be ruled a Danny Cruz own goal and a spectacular save by Busch on DeRo's bicycle kick, this one is level. This was going to be a hard match to get a point from anyway.
I love Saragosa's half ass jogs back to help. He's not helping take pressure off the backline at all and hasn't won a single 50/50 ball.
Well, it doesn't help that he hasn't really played, or even practiced, in a month and a half. He shouldn't be on the gameday roster at all; but we're missing a lot of players.
