    Jeff, Sean, Anyone:

I couldnt go to the MC last saturday. I saw the video and based on all that audio recording equipment it looked like you guys were being fancy-shmancy. Were any of the new songs recorded and/or will they be put on twitter or facebook in audio form?

    Thank you.

It was a first run at a small portion of new stuff. We'll probably do a few more song-focused get togethers soon. We don't like pushing songs until they have a bit of momentum and consensus behind them and many of the new ones are still in the acceptance/polishing phase.

Does the cauldron have a song based off of "Sweet Caroline"? Just recently have been to weddings and bars where I noticed the crowd ALWAYS seems to get into the "Bom bom bom" part, regardless of age group. If not, maybe it would be a good one to try and come up with something for Teal? "He's number 9, BOM BOM BOM, something something something" . Just thought I would throw it out there for the more creative folks to look at.

Yes, they're trying to get that one going for Teal with a few changes in lyrics from yours

Yeah we've already sung it at the draft etc - I think it will happen fairly regularly depending on the buy-in

    Sweet Number 9 (Boon-Boo-Ree)
Scoring never looked so good (so good so good so good)
    Goals all the time (Boon-Boo-Ree)
Just like Peter said you wou-ou-ould.

Christian Sinclair had these lyrics, and they all seem pretty perfect.

Hey guys/girls. I came up with a jingle last year that I've shared with sporting friends/fans and have gotten a lot of approval of. It's an original short chant, sounds very akin to an Irish drinking song (think dropkick murphys). It also lends itself to be either static lyrically at one part, or variable, depending on who we play (and what everyone wants it to be.)

I can record it and post it to youtube for your consumption tonight.

    Here's the lyrics:

Have you eeeeeever heard of the legend of sporting?
They're the heeeeeart of KC, great jooooy they bring.

(customizable part) To DC they're a curse, 'cause our forwards are vicious.
And our faaaaaaans are the best, as we shout S K C!

    ...(and loop)

Would youtube be the best way to record this for sharing/critiquing, or is there a alternative means the cauldron makes decisions I should do?

Here's the link to my horrendous singing (look past the shakey camera and lame vocals please!)

What do you guys/girls think? (I can picture it sounding good with everyone singing!)

it exisists and is sung, but it is too fast and too short to build any momentum behind it to be heard loud and clear as a section wide chant. Plus it ends on a hard 'e'. Difficult to hear as opposed to an 'a' or an 'o' but better than a 'u'.

Bummer. I had high hopes for that one. Can it be slowed down to make it more viable?

We did it a lot last year, and will still probably do it when we don't have time for full Neil Diamond. It just doesn't last long because there's nowhere to take it. Participation was good on it last year.

I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but just by posting it here, it will get pulled into a broader discussion of new songs w a lot of people and tossed around. If it comes out of that it will have a chance of happening in a game, so thanks for posting ideas. Keep doing it here as well. You can also start this on your own in a game, or come teach it to me. If I can learn it quickly there's a chance others will too.

    Battle Hymn of the Sporting
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of Sapong.
CJ dominates the middle with a presence that is strong
Big Afrika is righteous so we sing this Victory Song
    His goals keep marching on....

    Glory, Glory Big Afriiii-ka
    Glory, Glory Big Afriiii-ka
    Glory, Glory Big Afriiii-ka
    His boots go marching on!

But a better refrain for other situations:

    Glory, Glory Kei Kamara!
    Glory, Glory Kei Kamara!
    Glory, Glory Kei Kamara!
    His boot goes marching on!

Okay, lame for a first draft, but the first line about Sapong has stuck with me for almost a year now.

If you really want to embarrass Besler, come up with a take on Barry Manilow's "Mandy" but with "Matty".

Oh, Matty, how you came and you saved without faking.
    I need you to throw-in
    Oh, Matty...

Simple chant while we're on the upswing (won't work as well if we hit a rough patch in the season) and it ties in with Robb's theme this year:

(to the tune of "the wheels on the bus go round and round")

This is the year we paint the wall, paint the wall, paint the wall
This is the year we paint the wall, S K C

Guess my tongue in cheek twitter adaption of the Wonder Pets theme wasn't so out of left field after all.

    Kei, Jimmy, Matt Besler to,
We're KC Wiz and we'll beat you!
    Whats gonna work?
    TEEAM WORK
    Whats gonna work?
    TEEAM WORK

    KC Wiz KC Wiz,
    We're on our way,
To win the MLS cup and save the day
We're not to big and we're not to tough
But when when we work together ...
... we've go the right stuff.

    HA :D

You probably have to have kids to have even had this song stuck in your head ... I was kind of amazed at how many people liked this idea .... it would be unique ... lol

*shakes head* ....but you're not wrong..:D

I know this song has somehow become very popular in some circles the last couple of years. It's completely cheesy but funny too. You wouldn't even have to change lyrics and just use the chorus and the bridge. Just throwing it out there.

What do you guys think about everyone in the cauldron putting their arms on their neighbors shoulders and jumping up and down as we yell the "Here We Go" chant at the start of the match?

Oh yeah, that was one of the coolest things our Argie fans used to do. Can't remember what song that was they did that to, but it was a lot of fun and looked great. Too bad whatever happened there...happened - I miss that and their post game celebrations a lot.

Alot of the argies were plastic fans. They only cared about Argetine players. As soon as Lopez was let go they left.

Just a suggestion. How about singing a little bit of "Blame Canada" for our friends from the north? :D

    Blame Canada! Blame Canada!
With all their beady little eyes and flapping heads so full of lies
    Blame Canada! Blame Canada!
We need for form a full assault!
    It's Canada's fault!
