Not really needed. We will have subforums for each team. Just be patient please. Feel free to continue to use (or not use) the USL team forums (hint, hint).
Probably the best place for this. Thought y'all might appreciate some of the shots in this: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKmr6NLXGBs"]YouTube- Hooligans Episode 1[/ame]
Wow its quiet in here!! Hello!! Ayr United fan here dont know if you know or even care but our striker Tam McManus has just signed for Rochester Rhinos. Great player and good person hope he does well for you.
Rhinos site confirms it... http://rhinossoccer.com/news/index.html?article_id=206 seems like a pretty good signing
It would be about this time of year that supporters like myself would start posting on the Rhinoszone web boards. Unfortunately the ambitions of the Rhinos and the site owners were thrust in different directions. Off to support the Red Bulls the boys went and down to third division dropped my Rhinos. My heart has been with the Rhinos since 1996. It has been an interesting ride. More ups than downs in the early years; the championships, the Open Cup runs, the quality players. The middling years were ones where we would make small runs in the playoffs and the Open Cup. Good enough in spurts to feel that a championship was within reach but ultimately not good enough to reach the pinnacle. The last few years have seen old ownership failing, local companies getting stiffed on contracts, new ownership and the realization that we will not be on the MLS radar for years to come, if ever again. Throughout this I remain a supporter. Now lets talk about this season! Cheers! Sofla Kicker ahem 10shirt10
Browsing thru the roster OUT: GK Neil Kitson MF Alfonso Montegalvon MF Rich Costanzo MF Max Ferdinand MF Kenold Versailles MF Tony Donatelli MF TJ Gore F Anthony Hamilton F Kendall Jagdeosingh IN: GK Brandon Miller DF Michael Zaher F Conor Chinn F Graciano Brito F Thomas McManus HOLDOVERS: DF Tyler Bellamy DF Troy Roberts DF Jack Traynor DF Quavas Kirk MF Drew Cost MF Michael Tanke MF Tyler Roselund MF JC Banks F Andrew Hoxie F Isaac Kissi Obvious need for an experienced GK. As a rookie Miller needs to learn the trade. Loss of Kitson was huge. Defense looks the most set. Midfield has holes to fill. We have enough forwards now please stop adding thank you. Although I do wonder if a healthy Kissi would want to remain in D3. Local tryouts began Feb 13th. Who knows what that will add.
I did see that. At 5'7" 145 he is smallish for a forwrd but if he is a playmaker he will fit in just fine. Cant wait to see him in action.
One correction to your list; Traynor should be in the 'in' category. He was with Orlando last year. Solid signing, he'll help improve what was a weak left side last season. No surprise that most of the outs were in the midfield, hopefully there are better options out there to fill it back in with.
Will Traynor was listed in the 2011 media guide. Cant remember if he only played a partial season though. I was fighting apathy last year and I think it won. I did miss DF Connor Tobin who needs to added to the outs. Front office is unchanged with Rob Clark, owner, Pat Ercoli,President and GM, Dave Cieslinski,VP. Coaching changes: head coach Lilley out and Jessie Meyers in. GK coach Billy Andracki is out.
There are two Traynors: Jack and Will. Jack played in Orlando last year. Will played in Rochester last year.
He is 5 10 maybe 5 11 don't know where they got 5 7 from and i would say 160 ish lbs and can play as a number 9 (goalscorer) or 10 (playmaker). Hope he does well for you and watch out for his long range bombs he will shoot from anywhere!! Will keep an eye on how he is doing. Good Luck.
Yes, Jack was the Traynor I was referring to. I actually forgot that Will was on the Rhino's roster last year. McManus is listed as 5' 7" on Wikipedia, but who knows where that info came from. He didn't look that short in the one video I saw of him. Looking forward to a few long range bombs; it'll be a welcome change from what we've seen from forwards here the past two seasons who were always waiting for the perfect look before pulling the trigger.
and add another great signing...Kristian Nicht, goalkeeper with experience playing in Germany including the Bundesliga http://rhinossoccer.com/news/index.html?article_id=213
Some research on players currently trialing with the Rhinos. http://tinyurl.com/7tslabw http://tinyurl.com/7pstp9f The team has signed Gustavo Zamudio. http://www.rhinossoccer.com/news/index.html?article_id=224 And Jesse Myers has said that the team is working to sign left back / left winger and former Rhino Danny Earls.
Earls is with the club. He has played in their pre-season matches. I think the club is stronger than last season.
1-0 victory away to start the season. I did not watch the match, but to go up 1-0 on the road and play solid defense to prevent the home team from coming back, gives me hope.
