NBC Sports has a Pro Soccer Talk section on its site now and Steve Davis is their main writer. They have a "talk" section for pro/college football, basketball and baseball. I like how they have tidbits that you don't really find on other sports sites. Here's the first entry: I think nbcsports.com will be the new go-to site for MLS news and analysis that you won't be able to find on sites like foxsoccer.com, si.com and espn.com. http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/
What a half-a$$ed effort. 1) One writer, and it's... ugh Steve Davis. 2) The soccer section doesn't appear as a tab at the top, unlike every other sports section, so no one will ever see it 3) LOL "new go-to site for MLS" I hope you're being paid to pimp this...
1) Hopefully you weren't hoping for someones like Ives or Wahl LOL 2) Soccer is between Olympics and Motorsports at the top on the front page 3) Nope sorry. Besides they just started it today.
What I mean is "Pro Soccer Talk" is not shown on the graphic at the top with the other sites like the XTalks, Irish (do people still care?), and "off the bench" whatever that is:
Yep, we still care Mlssoccer.com is the go-to site for MLS News and analysis that the other 3 don't go as in depth in. NBC might jump above espn, but foxsoccer has Ives and SI has Wahl.
Ah yeah I realized that after I replied to you. Keep in mind that today is the first day for PST. Other pro sports talk pages only have 2 or 3 writers so NBC might hire a second guy besides Steve Davis. I hope it's not Ives or Wahl though. Wahl isn't that bad but Ives is probably the worst soccer analyst. Once the season starts they'll probably add it to the tab and promote it more. mlssoccer.com is the best source for MLS news but their problem is that they're never critical of teams/players/managers because it's the league's site. It's nice to see some constructive criticism every once in a while. I sent them some feedback telling them they should add PST to their tab at the top of their page and update their mobile site by adding soccer news to it. http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/contact/
great news, i always liked his personal blog/site, i guess it was shut down to move on to better things
Yep, because as is evident in today's Kick Off, I am all giddy to know that Brooklyn Beckham received an Arsenal shirt for his 13th birthday, AND that Usher sang to him over the phone. I doubt you'll see things as in-depth as that on SI, ESPN, or FoxSoccer.
NBC is already pumping up the MLS season. Right now their top story is an analysis of the Western Conference and how the Galaxy are the heavy favorites to win.
I noticed two things. They should have MLS not soccer at the top, just like they have MLB and NFL. Also it is basically all the way at the end of the line . When are the games being televised? I looked through their programming and I haven't seen and pre and post game shows. So we'll see how much analysis and attention they give it. But given how much time Fox Soccer gave the MLS , I doubt NBC Sports will be able to compare. I feel right now that they might have gotten more money out of this deal , but with less coverage. We'll see how they cross promote , maybe Beckham will end up on an NBC show . The jury is still out.
NBC Pro Soccer Talk has added Richard Farley as a second writer. Has anyone heard of him? Apparently he was chief editor at FOXSoccer.com
Yeah, it's Chris Farley's cousin. Dude gives a great breakdown of the food and beverages available at each stadium!
Does anyone here ever post comments in the PST section of nbcsports.com? I'm surprised there are so few comments there.
I think I've posted about 6 or so this entire year. No community response, but I'm sure he gets a fair number of hits.
No, but I don't post comments many places as largely ignored or something much much worse (refers to Yahoo news page...)
