Anyone here get an invite to Town Hall Meeting @ Stadium Club on February 15th? I ask because email claims that I was one of the top 100 loyalty point accounts during 2011. From what I remember the top 100 accounts were also supposed to get a free nights stay @ Harrah's A.C., and I've not been contacted about that. I will probably touch base with rep next week, but was just wondering if anyone else here was in the same situation.
Congrats to you. Just a friendly warning that this thread will probably turn into a huge bitch session about why everyone wasn't invited.
I thought that myself when I read it. After all, nobody is a bigger Union fan/supporter than ___________ and loyalty points are not fair because _____________. It's cool that you were invited, enjoy!
Yeah, thanks for the heads up guys... I actually thought the same thing after posting it last night. I really thought I might find someone else, who may be attending.. Or get some insight before Monday. Fuses do tend to get lit easily over stuff like this... But it was certainly not my intention.
I don't know if the top 100 can be considered accurate. I earned 990 points last season (didn't spend any) and I got invited. I have to believe there are season ticket holders with multiple seats that have earned more than I have. My email says I was top 100 as well.
Anyone going to the townhall meeting tonight? If not are there any questions that people want answered?
I hear Seaport Drive has a big vault full of allocation money, a la Uncle Scrooge McDuck. What are their plans with the money? Re-sign players to contract extensions? Sign a DP? How could/would they invest that back into the team? Inquiring minds want to know.
My plan was to go, but, seeing as I didn't get any information about the reschedule until 3pm yesterday, I won't be attending. Stuff like that is getting old (i.e. reschedules, delays, late or missing emails). For those of us with full-time jobs and kids, the FO can't just expect us to be, "Oh, okay, I can do that with 24 hours notice." Shame of it is I really wanted to go. Of course, I'm sure it will be a night filled with sunshine and roses.
at least you are getting a reschedule notification. i received no email regarding this event? shiittttttt, i've been a STH since day 1.
Hopefully, they will give tours of the allocation money vault. It looks like an e-mail distribution issue for some folks as I got the below e-mail from fanservices@philadelphiaunion.com back on the afternoon of February 9 in regard to the reschedule to tonight. Thanks again for your RSVP to the Philadelphia Union Town Hall Event. Unfortunately, due to a scheduling conflict with CEO and Operating Partner Nick Sakiewicz, we will need to postpone the event until Thursday, February 23rd. Nick will be travelling to Florida with the team for pre-season training, and will no longer be available on the original date. Many of the questions submitted would be best answered by Nick, so we want to make sure he is still included in this event. We certainly apologize for any scheduling conflicts that this may cause, and hopefully you can still make the new date. If you cannot then please let us know as soon as possible, and we will remove you from the RSVP list – if you can make the new date, no need to RSVP again we will see you on the 23rd. What: Philadelphia Union Town Hall Meeting When: Thursday, February 23rd – 7:00-9:00pm Where: PPL Park – Stadium Club Park in North Lot across from Club and Suite Entrance Enter through Club and Suite Entrance Thanks for your continued support, Philadelphia Union Fan Services
Most people didn't I think this event is for people that went over a certain point threshold from last year.
If someone won one of the jerseys at the end of the season, that would probably have indicated that they were a top 100 loyalty point person, right? Is it possible I haven't gotten squadoosh from the U by something on their end, because I haven't received an email in about 2+ months.
The town hall meeting was alittle refreshing for someone that is still bitter over the whole LeToux trade. A few things that I took away from the meeting was that the Union are going to sign Hernandez, I don't see the Union ever signing a big name DP (unless their plan does not work out this year and they have to sign someone in the summer transfer window). One guy did not like some of the SOB chants and asked if NICK could do anything about it, whatever. A Bimbo Cup is in the works and could happen maybe next year, they are trying to make the Orlando training camp similiar to how the Phillies do theirs (fantasy camp, etc.). STH will get first shot at MLS All-Star tix's. Expansion to PPL Park may not happen til 2015, first they are going to build (1) grass and (1) turf field with a training facility and executive offices on the southside of PPL Park. They are very big on the youth movement, reserves, etc. which I thought was good and I got the feeling that they are even bigger on local youth players. One thing I thought was interesting was Nick said he was invited to the Arsenal/Everton Anniversary match and he was talking to the CEO's of Arsenal, Stoke, and some other clubs and he said they were very interested in the Union as well as asking questions about the Sons of Ben. I thought that was kind of cool that we are being recognized across the pond. Off memory thats all I can remember. Oh yeah, and the MLS has more control this year over the refs. They are training the refs as well getting help from european refs. They said to expect better refs this year, I am still skeptical.
GQ wrote a really flattering article about us a while back...definitely the reason. What was Nick's response to the SOB chanting dude's question?
basically he said he did not want a ne revolution incident to happen. he said the stadium rules are there and will be enforced and mentioned the celtic fans incident in 2010. dave rowan also commented on it and said they was working on creativity w the sons of ben however it really may be something they cant do anything about and that they do not want a revs incident and mentioned about their attendance problems. very straightforward and honest answer, alot of faith in the front office and sob relationship.
Eff that, I'll chalk it up to the FourFourTwo article written by Steven Wells. PSP has a recap of the Town Hall. http://www.phillysoccerpage.net/2012/02/24/news-from-union-town-hall-meeting-nowak-on-cr-more/
