Im still not a season ticket holder this year, maybe next year when life has settled down and I know I can make the trip up to more games. Just curious if the Cauldron is going to have members season tickets to sell for every home game. I know I can get them online, but if I can help the cauldron out and buy them from the group I would rather do that.

You can purchase tickets from a STH via ticket exchange.

Still ticketmaster, but at least this way one would know that they are helping out Cauldronites in the Members Stand sell their unwanted tickets. There are some in there for games that are just above STH cost, but below walk-up.

Ok complaint about TicketBastard. I put my ticket up for sale here and while doing so they inform you that you will receive 90% of the price you put. Ok fair enough they receive a 10% cut. I then went to the site to see what other tickets were posted at and found my exact ticket listed as $2.50 more than I put, and they add even more after that for fees. Also don't like having to $2.00 to forward a ticket, when all it is doing is sending an email. I know both are small amounts of money, but still hate how they do it. I can't stand TicketBastard such a scam.

For the 2012 Opener against N.E., Member Stand tickets are already going between $60 and 66 per on a .com that I will not name here.

Im all about capitalism, but dang, it just doesnt seem right to me. Especially when considering the efforts of Jeff, Sean and many others involved here, not to mention the good faith that Sporting Club has shown the Cauldron in releasing tickets to us.

EDIT: reading over the first few posts in this thread is interesting in retrospect. Lot has changed in one year. I imagine theres a lot of opinions on the matter.

i don't know how they could reliably do this, but i hope that the cauldron is doing their best to only sell their allotment to people that are either registered with the cauldron or are personally known by someone involved... or some other method they deem to be effective there's gonna be quite a few games where members' stand tix will be resold at a premium, and it'd suck if a good deal gets spoiled by some nonfans only looking for a profit.

If hell freezes over for anyone and you can not make the opener and have a MS ticket, PLEASE PM ME! I missed out on the tix that were available (friggin work!) so am looking for two-four MS tickets for the opener.

Tickled pink that tix are hard to come by less than 2 years after CAB tickets were being given away, but frustrated as hell that I can't satisfy my sense of entitlement to be there! lol

    Thanks,

    Scott

I wonder if there is a way to track the tickets? They have to be bought and through paypal I am sure a name is associated with the transaction. With some volunteer help from those who bought the overpriced tickets by giving some sort of ticket details there might be a way to connect who is selling them.

It is within their rights to re-sell the tickets that they bought for whatever price them deem appropriate. It is also the right of the cauldron not to sell them tickets if they are a known scalpler.

Am I the only one that doesn't care what people do with their tickets? I agree with rooting out career scalpers, many of which I can identify from so many Chiefs and Royals games. But if a STH wants to sell a game at profit who cares? I won't do it but I don't see the issue.

    Directly from the Cauldron's website:

Note: If we determine that you are scalping tickets, we reserve the right to cancel your order and future orders. The Cauldron is not about making money and we try to make these as cheap as possible for everyone regardless of demand.

Sporting respects what we do enough to allow us to use these ticket sales to raise a bit of funding. They trust us to try to get them in the hands of real supporters, regardless of money, and ultimately to grow and increase support for this great club.

Thanks to all of you that go that extra effort to get their ticket into the hands of a deserving supporter for the right reasons.

my concern wasn't about sth, it was about the few that the cauldron are allowed to sell on the cheap. i'm pretty sure that's what the others were talking about too.

I havent been called an idealist since college, but if we want to be like every other section of every other stadium in the country,* then yes, theres absolutely no issue here.

Also, I dont understand your distinction between rooting out "career scalpers" versus others who opt to sell above face. If its fine for STHs to sell a ticket 2 or 3x face, whats the difference in a career scalper doing the exact same thing? Imo, if a die-hard sells for $75, its the same exact thing as a prospector who knows nothing of soccer (other than the fact that David Beckham is in town) selling at $75.

Ill spare the 'Workers of the World unite' speech, but frankly, even if it means flying in the face of market reality, in a section of only 2000 tickets, Im all for the informal, vernacular of Cauldron/MS. So much of all-sports is shaddowed by loquacious amounts of $, can we not just police this one small area? (Of course, if the majority [including guys like you Ben] insist on selling at face or giving away unused tickets, sellers looking to mark-up are undercut).

*and the rest of the world too. E.g. Kop seats regularly priced higher.

If you ordered tickets that day they were available through the Cauldron website how will they be delivered? Will it be a Will Call situation?
