Anyone who thinks they know their team, provide the board with your best guess as to the proected lineup or depth chart of your favorite team. I will try with LA. [LINEUP-4-4-2] Keane, Buddle, Stephens, Donovan, Sarvas, Beckham, Dunivant, de la Garza, Leonardo, Franklin, Saunders[/LINEUP-4-4-2] Typical Bench: Perk, Boyens, Meyer, Nakazawa, Cardozo, Barrett, Jordan
As of now for New England: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Moreno, Cardenas(withdrawn), Feilhaber, Simms, Joseph, Rowe, Barnes, Soares, Lozano, Alston, Reis[/LINEUP-4-4-2] In case you want a 3-5-2: [LINEUP-3-5-2]Moreno, Cardenas, Rowe, Simms, Feilhaber, Joseph, Guy, Barnes, Lozano, Soares, Reis[/LINEUP-3-5-2] Subs: Tierney, Polak, Fagundez, Guy, Schilawski, Shuttleworth, McCarthy Formation might be different of course
DC: Pontius - Salhili DeRo - Branko - Najar Kitchen Woolard - McDonald - Dudar - Russell Hamid Subs: Cronin, Wolff, Santos, White, King, Cruz, Jakovic Honestly, it's hard to guess how Branko and DeRo will play together.
The Union, kind of a 4-1-3-2 for home games, with Carroll as the lone CDM: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Mwanga, Martinez^, Daniel*, Adu /\, Carroll \/, Khalfan/M Farfan, Lopez, Califf (c), Valdes, Williams, MacMath[/LINEUP-4-4-2] The Union, in a 4-2-2-2 "empty bucket" for away games, with a CDM tandem of Carroll/Gomez: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Mwanga, Martinez^, Daniel*, Carroll \/, Gomez \/, Khalfan/M Farfan, Lopez, Califf (c), Valdes, Williams, MacMath[/LINEUP-4-4-2] Unless Nowak decides to sell of some of those guys too. But like our forum tagline says, we're taking bets on his starting XI. Nowak's lineups are like a box of chocolates. SUBS: Harrison, G Farfan, Torres, McInerney, Hoffman, Okugo, Pfeffer ^Assumes the rumored Pajoy signing doesn't go through *Assumes his visa issues are squared away and he will return to the team.
-Switch DeRo with Pontius, as that is where each player was positioned last year. -Switch Willis for Cronin, as Cronin is no longer on the team. -Not sure Wolff is an automatic back-up. DeLeon offers more versatility as far as tactics and ability to provide coverage for most of the offensive positions. -Switch Korb for White, as Korb is the more versatile wide defender. -King will probably lose out to one of the DM trialists (Svard/Saragosa), but for now he makes the sub bench.
A few ways we can go with this with all the new names, but here's what I think will be the lineup: [LINEUP-4-4-2] Henry, Rodgers/Cooper, Lindpere, Marquez, Tainio, Richards, Miller, Conde, Holgersson, Solli, Vuolo[/LINEUP-4-4-2] Bench: Meara, Keel, Borrajo, Ballouchy, McCarthy, Agudelo, Cooper/Rodgers But I've seen people projecting a 4-3-3, which would probably mean this (bench is the same): [LINEUP-4-3-3] Richards, Henry, Agudelo, Lindpere, Tainio/Marquez ▲, Marquez/Tainio, Miller, Conde, Holgersson, Solli, Vuolo[/LINEUP-4-3-3] The forwards can also be Henry/Rodgers/Richards.
As of right now in Colorado once everyone is healthy: [LINEUP-4-3-3]Mullan,Casey,Cummings,Larentowicz,Castrillon,Mastroeni,Freeman,Moor,Wynne,Kimura,Pickens[/LINEUP-4-3-3]
It's tough to say at the moment for the San Jose Earthquakes since they're still trying out trialists and are still trying to get last year's loanee Simon Dawkins to return for at least one more season, but as it stands right now, the starting lineup will likely be: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Lenhart, Wondolowski, Baca/Salinas, Alexandre, Moreno, Chávez, Corrales/Morrow, Bernárdez, Hernandez/Opara, Beitashour, Busch[/LINEUP-4-4-2]
Sounders are relatively easy as we pretty much know who will be starters. The only exceptions are who will be LB and whether or not Sivebaek will be a starter or depth. There is also Zakuani's health to consider, but that's not really going to be an issue until the summer anyways. With Sivebaek as sub: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Ochoa, Montero, Fernandez, Evans, Alonso, Rosales, Gonzalez/Burch, Hurtado,Parke, Johansson, Gspurning[/LINEUP-4-4-2] Bench: Scott, Ianni, Sivebaek, Neagle, Fucito, Carrasco, Burch/Gonzalez With Sivebaek as starter and Montero or Rosales as a withdrawn forward: [LINEUP-4-3-3]Ochoa, Montero, Rosales, Fernandez, Alonso, Sivebaek, Gonzalez/Burch, Hurtado, Parke, Johansson, Gspurning[/LINEUP-4-3-3] Bench: Scott, Ianni, Evans, Neagle, Fucito, Carrasco, Burch/Gonzalez With healthy Zakuani: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Ochoa, Montero, Zakuani, Fernandez, Alonso, Rosales, Gonzalez/Burch, Hurtado,Parke, Johansson, Gspurning[/LINEUP-4-4-2] Bench: Scott/Ianni, Evans, Sivebaek, Neagle, Fucito, Carrasco, Burch/Gonzalez
First XI for RSL is pretty much exactly the same as in years past: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Espindola, Saborio/Paulo Junior, Johnson, Morales, Beckerman, Grabavoy, Wingert, Olave, Borchers/Schuler, Beltran, Rimando[/LINEUP-4-4-2] Bench (total shot in the dark): Paulo Junior, Gil, Alvarez, Martinez, Toia, Schuler, Reynish Saborio had knee surgery in the offseason and is questionable to start the season. Hence the slash with Paulo Junior Borchers also had offseason surgery and is questionable (though very likely) to start the season. Depth (listed from likely to contribute to likely not making it in reserve matches) FW: Paulo Junior, Agorsor, Arnoux, Bonfigli MF: Gil, Alvarez, Martinez, Velasquez, Muniz, DF: Schuler, Toia, Cruz, Alemdia GK: Reynish, Fernandez Players in camp now but not certain will be on squad: Neal (MF) Steal (MF) Bengelloun (DF) Knight (DF) Tanaka (DF)
------------------------SALIHI ------------------------------DEROSARIO PONTIUS--------------------------------------------NAJAR ----------------BOSKOVIC ------------------------------KITCHEN WOOLARD--------JAKOVIC------------DUDAR---------RUSSELL ---------------------------HAMID bench : WILLIS, MCDONALD, KORB, KING, CRUZ, WOLFF, SANTOS I reckon there will be at least one more player to the top 18 before season starts. Probably a left back that would push Woolard to the bench and Korb to the reserves. Possibly a new center mid that would challenge for King's bench spot.
[LINEUP-3-5-2]Puppo,Oduro,Pappa,Robayo,Grazzini(c),Pardo,Nyarko,Segares,Gibbs,Gargan,Johnson[/LINEUP-3-5-2] Subs:Nolly,Barouch,Dube,Pause,Bone,Anibaba,Kinney
Not sure I see too much on the bench, but on pixel, the starting XI looks pretty good. Besides Puppo being somewhat of an unknown, it remains to be seen how much Pardo has left and whether that defense will put up much resistance. Very curious to see how Robayo performs since I was really hoping DC would pick him up.
Portland Timbers [LINEUP-4-4-2]Nagbe, Boyd, Alhassan, Jewsbury, Chara, Songo'o, Chabala, Brunner, Mosquera, Palmer, Perkins[/LINEUP-4-4-2] Bench: Gleeson, Danso, Wallace, Alexander, Zizzo, Perlaza, Dike Frank Songo'o hasn't actually been signed yet but he is a trialist who has been very impressive in all the practices so far and it looks like the Timbers are planning on signing him. There is a lot of competition at some positions and some of the players listed as being on the bench could end up being starters.
Houston [LINEUP-4-4-2]Bruin, Carr, Davis, Camargo, Moffat, Clark, Ashe, Cameron, Boswell, Hainault, Hall[/LINEUP-4-4-2] Bench: Weaver, Taylor, Watson, Dixon, Sturgis, Sarkodie, Deric We desperately need another forward and another probably another player on the right hand side.
There is no way that Klopas is going with the 3-5-2. Our line-up will look more like this to start the season: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Puppo, Oduro, Pappa, Grazzini, Pardo, Nyarko, Segares, Gibbs, Anibaba, Gargan, Johnson[/LINEUP-4-4-2] Imagine Grazzini tucked in behind the forwards in a 4-3-1-2
I was just going to say the same thing.right side we may see pause as a wingback mf .something like this —-------------—puppo----------- -----------------------------------------oduro- ---------------------grazzini------------------ pappa----------------------------------------- ----------------------pardo-----------pause
Just basing it off your projected lineup, I agree with you forward is definitely the weak link. An upgrade of either Clark and/or Moffatt/Camargo wouldn't hurt as well.
First XI for SKC seems mostly agreed upon in our forums along these lines- [LINEUP-4-3-3]Convey, Sapong, Kamara, Espinoza, Cesar, Zusi, Sinovic, Besler, Collin, Myers, Puma[/LINEUP-4-3-3] Subs haven't been talked about as much. My take: Bunbury, Nagamura, Harrington, Saad, Kronberg/Kempin, Cyrus, Diop. A couple of the draft picks will get some time too as players are gone for NT duty (particularly Bunbury on the Olympic team). Hopefully they can really challenge for roster spots. Bunbury and Sapong are probably interchangeable in the first XI (I personally think Teal will get the starts, but I would rather see CJ).
I believe Houston's Defense/GK combination may be the best in the league. Unfortunately, their attack is entirely dependent on a Brad Davis Corner/FK up to this point.
Close. With the current players signed to contracts, the starting lineup will almost surely be: [LINEUP-4-4-2] Buddle, Keane, Magee, Sarvas, Beckham, Donovan, Dunivant, Boyens/Meyer, DeLaGarza, Franklin, Saunders[/LINEUP-4-4-2] It seems that, barring a last-minute signing of another center-back, Boyens and Meyer are fighting for the starting spot in place of Omar Gonzalez, at least until Leonardo returns from injury in April. And then for CCL games, with Sarvas being cup-tied, Stephens or Nakazawa would be the obvious choices to replace him....
A lot of people had us billed as a 4-3-3 based on Rennie's preferences in the past, but he's been playing a 4-4-2 lately in training: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Hassli, Le Toux, Camilo, Thorrington, Marques, Harris, Rochat, DeMerit, Bonjour, Lee, Cannon[/LINEUP-4-4-2] Main subs: Nguyen, Tan, Mattocks, Watson, Boxall, Mitchell, Koffie
