HSV has a huge fan base. At one point in the 50s and 60s, they were arguably Germany's most popular club.

BTW, don't forget this list only counts revenue generated. It doesn't take debt and operational costs into account.......

GolTv had a great piece on Neven Subotic working with very young immigrant kids in Dortmund for the Children's Laughter Organization. One of his focuses is on making sure they are learning German, as he had to do so himself when he first arrived from Bosnia.

    Very cool.

Kehl has also worked with organizations dedicated to combating abuse of children.

    He and Judas Metzelder both.....

Lol...I remember. And yeah, it is very cool to see them give back to the community that way.

I also recall all the pics of them together - and the "jokes" we made on the list because of them, such a nice looking couple.

He was born in the Bosnia of the former Yugoslavia area and his family moved to Germany on refugee status. Once that status was up, his family moved to the US. He actually spent quiet some time growing up in Germany. He was eligible for Serbia based on his parents.

What's worse is that Wolfgang Stark is going to be the referee.

That's going to hurt us more than Götze or Piszczek being out.

Weidenfeller is also listed as "questionable", but he'll probably play.

With Langerak still being out, if Weidenfeller can't play, 21-year old Johannes Focher would have to play.......

EDIT: The BVB homepage says Langerak was back in training today.....

espn3 doesn't do anything for me due to my internet connection. I was wondering if it will be on either ESPN Deportes or Gol tv. The only German match showing up on my DVR is the Moenchengladbach match and I have both channels set to tape any Bundesliga match.

I'm pretty sure Kuba will start.

I've started the match thread if you want to bring this up there too.

It looks like a 4 horse race for the Bundesliga title. What do you guys think ? Usually every season, one team wins comfortably like 3 games before the end. It does not look this way this season. Schalke have some injury. Maybe they will fade away especially with Europa League matches coming for them. Gladbach dont play in Europe. They will have a lot of days to prepare for each game so they wont get many injuries. If they continue to have their players fit, I can see them being up there in the end. Bayern will be challenging in the end too. It is gonna be very interesting. It is like the Premier League.

    I agree ^^^

I think it will come down to BvB and Bayern. Can't see Schalke keeping pace with the three due their injuries/suspensions and their activity in Europe. Moenchengladbach will be in trouble if they lose Reus even for 1-2 games which could happen since he tends to pick up minor knocks. Plus they are still in the DFB Pokal

That really sucks and is one of the reasons why they keep winning. Nobody is taking them seriously. As soon as the pressure is on them, they will stumble as usual (it's bloody Schalke after all), but right now it's just Bayern, Dortmund, Gladbach (due to their relegation->bundesliga top fairy tale) in the media.

Dude, Scheisse has a "young coach with charisma?" Are you f#cking kidding me?

Huub Stevens is 58 years old and one of the most miserable bastards in the business! Do you realize Stevens was their coach when they fell into the UEFA Cup win in 1997??!!

Or did you not realize Ralf Rangnick quit on them???

Let's see how they do without Höwedes for awhile......

I think they will because we've seen this all from a Lucien Favre coached team before.

Eventually, they stop getting the breaks and can't overcome things when that happens.

    We have the same target.......

Yes, we shall. I agree with you there.

Stevens has taken them to within a Bayern stoppage time goal of a title before.

But that doesn't mean he can do it again.

I don't think they will "go away" in the overall scheme of things.

But I don't think they will wind up seriously challenging Bayern or us unless we fall back to them.

The season is still just halfway done. There's a long way to go and much can happen to anyone.

Awful news ! Goetze is out injured for 2 MONTHS ! He will be back in mid-March.

BVB will not play any of the top 5 teams until then. That's 7 Bundesliga matches.

I share your sentiment on Kuba. However, please remember that Kuba is far from our only option.

If Kuba puts his head back up his ass as he usually does and we have to bench him, we can do other things like:

o Drop Lewandowski back to midfield, put Barrios back up front, move Grosskreutz to the right and Kagawa to the left.

o Move Grosskreutz to the right and put Perisic in on the left.

o Simply replace Kuba with Perisic, Gündogan, Leitner or Zidan

Yes, Perisic can play on the right and both Gündogan and Leitner can play offensive midfield.

Those aren't our only options, but all I have time to type now.

I really just wanted to point out that Kuba is far from our only option. :)

    Totally agree with you......
