I don't think I took the whole Koke thing as hard as others. His trial didn't work out on his part instead of Doms. It wasn't in the cards for that deal. Besides we got Costly instead.

Yea, I liked him and up until the night he quit I was hoping he would be a star for us. But after he quit, I wasn't as impressed with some of the things he said, and, in retrospect, some of what he had said coming here.

I guess I didn't hear too much of what he said. Shame on him then.

wow-I mean when he and Eddie were the heart of our backline, I really thought he was a decent CB, but boy has he tanked the last few years.

We should do a road trip and show up in orange and cheer for him to see what he does.

I'm actually planning on going to the Scorpions' opening game. Since I have family from San Antonio and used to spend every weekend over there between ages 4-10 but haven't returned in like 7 years I feel like making a road trip. It'll also give me an excuse to visit my family.

From the "Very Good Chance the Sun Will Come Up Tomorrow" department, our 'ol pal DeRo still seems to be less than satisified with his contract (NO!!! SHOCKING!!!!!):

    From MeRo himself:

And Cruz sure seems happy to be elsewhere:

Wonder what Cruz means by this?? Is he bitter because the Dynamo didn't value him? Is he mad because he had to dress in his practice gear at home? Everyone who has been in Houston has loved it. Eddie Robinson is making his home here where he is from NC. Richard Mulrooney lives in Houston. Brad Davis loves Houston. Brian Ching was dying to stay in Houston.

Errrr.....Mullan didn't seem to be in love with Houston based on his quotes after he left. Mostly weather related though.

Am I the only one who remembers Ryan being Bonehead #1 in '10?

He was great the first go round.

Last memory I have of him was a heated San Jose game we lost at the last minute.I remember seeing him talk some hateful shit right to Ching's face like he wanted to fight or something. After that it's been fu<k him in my book; I mean it's not like Ching and the team you're acting like this towards had anything to do with that ring on your finger or anything. I can understand shit talking among players but his seemed more hateful that anything and it never felt right to me.

From afar, he never seemed happy in Houston, like he really didn't want to be there (he was from San Jose or Oregon IIRC), and his play was never really as solid as his draft status implied. I understand some of the feelings of the guys who moved here but at some point you have to put in the rearview mirror. Kind of became a bit leaky in 2007 and I still have no idea why we brought him back in 2010, which fit the panicky and lousy moves we made that year.

I think he sort of lived off of his initial promise and high draft position (he fooled Yallop the second time around in San Jose) and was overpaid the last few years.

Agreed. Cochrane has been stealing money from the league for years.

I know; but you said everyone that has been in Houston has loved it. I am not sure that is true for all of them although I can only point to Cruz and Mullan who have said anything. I agree most of them grow to love the city.

does anyone remember me going apekaka when we re-acquired Ryan Cochrane? i got a lot of heat for that one from some of yous, but truth be told Cochrane didn't even impress me during his 1st stint.

think about Ryan's best game in Orange...

now think about the 1st time you saw Geoff Cameron play...

yup, since that episode he's been dead to me.

I'm not sure he was bitter, but no one wants to take a major pay cut. He was young when he came to Houston, and has been being paid a inflated salary he was not worth because of the GA tag (does not hit the cap). We value him, just not at the salary he believes he is worth. I think a lot of this is being young and never playing for another club.

I wonder if DC signed him with the last year of his current deal, or if he re-signed a whole new contract? If he is free after this year maybe he looks overseas for more cash.

Even with a slight raise, his cash will not go anywhere near as far in DC as it did in Houston. He will probably be in for a huge wake up call. Most cities in the US are way more expensive to live than Houston. Our FO should really be pushing this and the no state income tax hard during negotiations.

I agree most players seem to really like it here, AFTER they live and play here a couple of years. Ching, Hainault, Robinson, Boswell, Barrett, Onstad, Davis, Mulrooney (you stated) have all been vocal about really liking Houston, and many have chose to stay in Houston after retiring. Maybe coincidence, but looks like more family oriented guys like it here.

Even when he went to the Revs. He played with a mean chip on his shoulders against us all the time.Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he even scored against us there too. I wonder if he had a beef with Dom or some of the vets on this team b/c after he left us his demeanor seemed like that of someone with bad blood when he saw us. Guys like DeRo and Moreno Ianni,Jaqua Wondo...etc, still show us love before and after but not him.
