So he can add an umlaut and live up to Mark Rogondino's ridiculous pronunciation of his name as "Bünbury"?

I'm sorry but I just don't get all the Teal hype. I've watched him play several times and see nothing any better or worse than what you get with Altadore and neither one is going to score many goals.
His Dad is annoyed Cdn national team supporters have the gall to call Teal names. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sp...over-unwarranted-shots-at-teal-133057928.html
The juicy irony being that Alex was born in Guyana, but played for Canada. The Canadian fans have no trouble embracing him. Yet Teal, born in Canada but mostly raised in Portugal and the United States should only play for the country of his birth.
To be fair, they claim it's because he was quoted as saying only a few months before that he couldn't imagine playing for the US/not playing for Canada.
Canada had a chance to integrate him from an early age. He only got 3 youth caps. That is a clear sign that he wasn't wanted. He was atop college player at Akron and somehow wasn't good enough for their U20 team? Give me a break. We fans are biased and our double standards are incoherent. It is not logical to criticize Ponce playing for Mexico while clamoring for Parker to give up on Germany or for Nagbe to get his citizenship sooner. We should fight for every dual-national. We will lose some along the way, but it's in poor taste to constantly criticize Rossi or Subotic for not choosing us. It hurts but we need to move on.
Bump. I'm cross-posting this via a thread from last year. In short: Bunbury has only one thing going for him - the ability to outrun a defense and get onto the end of a throughball. He doesn't pass well, doesn't hold the ball up in traffic, doesn't get "garbage" goals, and in two years as a pro, has NEVER scored off a cross. He's also scored just one header despite being 6-foot-2, and his runs in the final third are simply abysmal. I'm tired of watching him with the senior nats.
Sapong will be better for the national team. Been saying this a long time. He can play back to goal, combines better and is fearless It would br one thing if teal could consistently finish. But he does not
Could not agree more with both the previous two posters (thanks for all the great data, Matrim) and I am dreading watching him in Olympic qualifying or even, god forbid, the Olympics. He's got promise, but he is nowhere near ready for the senior national team. A black hole where the ball goes to die, or to get shot over or around the goal.
The majority of you guys didn't watch many SKC games this year. He was just as frustrating during the MLS season. He has shown glimpses, but as of now, he needs to get the ball to his feet with space, or else he struggles. He cannot lead a line all that well.
This. From a KC fan, I don't get the Teal hype. Watch his goals from last season. All but the cutback Vancouver goal were running on to the ball or putting away a lucky bounce. He's not unlike many of the many prior U.S. forwards who use quickness/size to make up for subpar skills. Technically, he's an upgrade to Eddie Johnson - but not by much.
