What a game, these HS matches are always entertaining to watch as a neutral. Miyaichi scored again, three goals for a 1st grade player is pretty impressive.

I got up early (7.00 am like the last time but only to find out that this time around games have already been played...)

At what time will the semi finals be played?

As for the results all except the last ones are a surprise for me

Miyaichi's brother scored again as I see only to lose after penalties. Gunma lost to Fukushima and imo it will be fukushima who will go and win it. Fukushima or Chiba

Chiba leads 1:0 after Ken Watanabe scored from a free kick

By the way I would really love to know what is the song which is constantly played on the stands with the trumpets I have heard it so many times now...

Izumi 2:0 and Chiba are mostly attacking ever since they are too strong for Oita.

Edit: Komatsu didn't use his chance to lower it to 2:1 after Chiba's defence screwed up...

but they just scored after the corner that followed Shun Sekie scored

Tamura gets a corner after a he has one on one with the GK, Kuniyoshi scores after the corner.

And some time later Tamura manages to capitalize on GKs mistake 2:0

Tamura is really causing them problems and imo this is game over we will see Mie in the final

Who is this guy they were showing during half time who later on played for Antlers and had number 4

I searched through all of Antlers famous players (defenders) but didn't find him :/

Edit: Matsuo scored for 3:0 now definitely game over for Fukushima

Edit2: Jesus What a goal by Asano

Edit3: Asano what a goal.... speachless

Edit4: As I write this the guy assists for 6:1

Fukushima officially destroyed - I am starting to wonder, will Chiba be ok? :p

And a picture for the end:

Well links are usually up only a few minutes before the game so expect them at about 14:00 local time or for me 6:00 am (central Europe time)

If you want a link to the semi-finals, there isn't one so you'll have to watch the highlights or something.

If you want a link to the final, that's not until the 9th so come back then.

    You shouldnt.
They are trying very hard, and show great spirit, it is true. But Ichi-Funa is so far ahead of them in class that the only factor keeping them in the game up to the final minute has been the referee. When they put up the "43,600" number on the scoreboard late in the game, for a moment I thought it was an unofficial tally of all the fouls that hadnt been called.

Not that Im trying to criticise this ref though. The entire tournament has been this way, in virtually every single game, and affecting both teams. I think the officials all must have received instructions before the tournament that they were only permitted to call 10 fouls per match, and if they went over the limit they would be punished. :p

    Indeed

And the only thing I perhaps missed was more build up in play. Not just today but through out the tournament. Too much straight forward passing and kicking the ball forward and hoping someone will get it. Was surprised in all honesty that teams didn't practice it, the possession and smart slow build up game, especially when they were leading

Also I am really glad that I have seen some interesting players for which I will now watch out, which Pro teams pick them up.

It was a very interesting match. I feel sorry for the white team, there is great emotions flowing in such a tense match, especially among young athletes.
I congratulate both teams for making it this far. Promising young players.

The level of commitment these players display never ceases to amaze me. For the third-year students the tournament's the reward of many years of ruthless training and countless hours of running.

Last year in the Weekly Soccer Magazine, I read an interview of Okubo and Matsui about their experiences of high school soccer. They still say the training regime they went through was the toughest they've ever been part of, and since graduating they reckon they've had it easy.
